I can for quite a few. Not arguing against anything you are saying, but there are plenty of specialist NBA assistants, Becky’s not one of those, neither is Chauncey, for that matter. He helped develop players and recognize defensive sets the opposing team was in. Becky is probably in that same mold

two examples...Terry Stotts was offensive coordinator for the Mavs that won a championship as an assistant and Tom Thibideau was defensive coordinator for the Celtics when they won a championship under Doc Rivers.....Nate McMillan and Tom Thibideau are defensive coordinators for team USA as assistants.....Terry Stotts said he didn't want his assistants to have exclusive roles but take turns working on game matchups on both sides of the ball....Mike D'Antoni assisted Steve Nash with the Nets with clock mangagements and time outs, etc

I can name the responsibilities or general area of study for most that are serious head coaching candidates because it’s usually a talking point.

Isn’t it curious that in the seven years or whatever hammon has been an assistant, we haven’t heard anything specific about what she was responsible for/who she helped developed? I do, at least when talking about a potential head coach.

I would think Chauncey will hire the best available defensive & offensive assistants. Remember, he was a very good defender and knows the what it takes.
If players don't buy into his emphasis on D it will be an issue.

if the players don’t buy into what Billups is selling, that says more about the players than it does about Billups and I’ll start to wonder how coachable they are. It will be hard to find a coach with as much relatability and credibility as Chauncey.

Well as things would have it i have now been banned from Blazers Edge Sob Sob Sniffle Sniffle.
Dave Deckard has also now blocked me on Twitter after i asked him if he was going to shut the site down now that Billups is the new coach.

Not even Jason Quick has blocked me yet.

I think the only two people in the world that have me blocked are Dave Deckard and Torey Jones AKA @BonesJones

    For obvious reason i guess?

deckard is an actual lunatic, guy legitimately thought pat bev should get suspended for a whole season for pushing Paul lmao. I never followed him but I still ended up blocking him after seeing that along with how he’s chosen to handle Billups. Hope the blazers take his press pass aw...oh wait hahahahaha.

Dave Deckard is a tool. I still cannot understand how he gained any sort of relevance.

He took over something great that Casey Holdahl created. He just had to not destroy it.

I personally don’t give a fuck about some piece of shit site with some piece of shit mod.

Except of course for our piece of shit site and our piece of shit mod

looks like the temperature has cooled on the billups drama.

especially with the rachel nichols fiasco taking over the news cycles.

found this on reddit, guessing it was posted earlier in the thread, but not sure. after Terry Stotts terrible ATO record, i can't wait to see how chauncey will influence our efficiency and playcalling here. he sounds so composed in explaining this --really hope he embodies a similar mindset as coach.

Going to be fun and as a future hof to be point guard, you know he see's the game very well. Plus I think his communication style will really fit the team.
he's going to turn CJ into an All Star and make us all on here eat crow.

    I hope so.

Seriously we have 5 different threads about trades and every one of them have trading CJ as the only way this team gets better.
Billups is giving no indication of wanting that to happen at all. He also seems to express this roster can compete. That would seem like he wants Powell back as well also Nurk.

Yeah, that was a pretty good video. Although I am not sure Brad Stevens should get major props for identifying the Horford /RoCo "mismatch" under the basket. I believe their standing reach difference is only 1 inch. Roco should have defended the pass better. (Although the pass was perfect)

agreed, but this seems to give more insight into the kind of things billups will value. our previous coach was notorious for not exploiting matchups.
