I think I may have noticed him in one NBA game....at least I remember the name care to enlighten me on his skillset?
He is a very good defender and rebounder. High energy guy , but he plays PF and cannot shoot to save his life.
That wouldn't be a bad move. I liked having Hoodie on the team. He lost a lot with the injury, but with this being his 2nd season back - there's at least some hope that he can get back to his old self.
Nuggets’ JaMychal Green Declines Contract Option July 23rd 2021 at 5:03pm CST by Dana Gauruder Nuggets forward JaMychal Green is headed to unrestricted free agency this summer. He’s declining the $7.56MM option on the final year of his contract, Shams Charania of The Athletic tweets. The 31-year-old Green appeared in 58 regular-season games this past season, including five starts, and averaged 8.1 PPG and 4.8 RPG in 19.3 MPG. He also averaged 5.4 PPG and 5.2 RPG in 19 MPG during the postseason. He missed the first five games of the season with a calf strain. He’s also played for the Clippers, Grizzlies and Spurs. The Nuggets became a hard-capped team after signing Green with the mid-level exception last offseason. The mid-season acquisition of Aaron Gordon ate into his playing time. Green might be taking a bit of a gamble, considering he’s been mainly a second-unit player much of his career. However, he’s a solid rotation player and can now find a new home where he might receive a bigger opportunity. https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2021/07/nuggets-jamychal-green-declines-contract-option.html Cavs’ Hartenstein Declines Player Option, Will Be Free Agent July 23rd 2021 at 9:46am CST by Luke Adams Cavaliers big man Isaiah Hartenstein has decided not to exercise his player option for the 2021/22 season and will become a free agent, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic (via Twitter). The minimum-salary option would’ve paid Hartenstein about $1.76MM. [RELATED: NBA Player Option Decisions For 2021/22] Multiple reports in June indicated that Hartenstein was expected to opt out, so his decision doesn’t come as a surprise. Those reports also suggested that the 23-year-old was a good bet to work out a new deal with the Cavaliers rather than leaving Cleveland for a new team. Hartenstein is eligible for restricted free agency, which will give the Cavs some control over the process and increases the likelihood that he sticks around. The team will have to issue a qualifying offer worth about $2.03MM to avoid having him become an unrestricted free agent. Hartenstein began the 2020/21 season in Denver, but played limited minutes with the Nuggets and was sent to Cleveland as part of the JaVale McGee trade at the March deadline. In 16 games with the Cavs, Hartenstein recorded 8.3 PPG, 6.0 RPG, 2.5 APG, and 1.2 BPG in 17.9 minutes per contest. All of those averages would’ve been career highs. The Cavs’ frontcourt figures to undergo some changes this offseason, whether or not Hartenstein returns. Like Hartenstein, Jarrett Allen will be eligible for restricted free agency, though Cleveland is expected to bring him back. Kevin Love is considered very available in trade talks, and the club may end up adding big man Evan Mobley with the No. 3 pick in the draft. https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2021/07/cavs-hartenstein-declines-player-option-will-be-free-agent.html
We could actually do this but getting Kawhi would require a sign and trade that would send RoCo, Nurk and DJ to the Clips... that is a great haul for them in a sign and trade situation. So if we did a three way trade that made sense for Toronto with CJ and future picks going out, re-signed Norm and then did that sign and trade for Kawhi, we'd be left with the taxpayer MLE to get our starting center and then have Ant, Nas and Elleby on the bench who we could add vet min players to. The good thing is a starting lineup of Dame, Norm, Kawhi, Siakam and let's say Bobby Portis would attract a lot of ring chasers.
Could we do all that and still be below the apron? (I'm out and about right now, don't want to try to do the research on my phone).
Ok I liked the video, but a 7'1 wingspan and 8'10 standing reach. (214 lbs) is basically Nasir Little without any outside shot. What am I missing?
Nurk, Covington, and DJ ($34,713, 178 combined) for Leonard. We would take on an extra $455,802 trading CJ($30,864,198) for Siakam ($31,320,000). For Lillard, Kawhi, and Siakam alone that's $108,595,178. With Powells new contract ( about $18,000,000) that's $126,595,178 Then you have Simons, Little and Elleby for $7,773,039 That's $134,368,217 for 7 players
No, we would be under the apron as far as contracts signed but the min level cap holds to fill out the roster would put us over but I'm not completely clear on the hard cap. Can you bring your team to the hard cap with salaries signed and then still go over it to fill your roster with min level contracts?
As I understand, hard cap means can't surpass it under any circumstances. So a Kawhi S/T would probably not really be an option
One interesting development I am looking forward to is when Nas breaks out and Simons fully matures what the Olshey haters will have to say. Perfectly plausible is that both of those guys make majors leaps with Chauncey, especially Nas. Yet for a lot of prominent voices here, that's not even a consideration whatsoever.
I think both were great value picks where we got them. Ant would have been a lottery pick if he would have gone to college or come out a year later and Nas was supposed to be a lottery pick and fell to us. Not every move Neil has made has been a bad one. Neil's two unforgivable shortcomings are not making moves that have to be made (keeping CJ for so long and letting LaMarcus walk) and really bad free agent signings and re-signings/extensions. It's kind of funny that CJ is in both categories because he was totally overpaid and shouldn't have even been here to be extended.
