I've been repeatedly told that shooting is a nearly impossible skill to develop so this must be Fake News. :P

Anyone else get the feeling there may be a wink wink nod nod, deal between Philly and Tor. Package Siakim and Lowry for Simmons, Curry and Hill.

Is there any indication whatsoever that Ingram is on the block? I'm not saying there isn't, I'm just not aware of that being a thing. To answer your question I'd rather have Simmons. He's much better overall and again is a Jump Shot away from MVP caliber.

No, because that would shatter my top two basketball fantasies. So no, nope, definitely not.

Personally I don’t think Simmons makes sense for them with Suggs on the way

Plus NBA teams almost never help a rival out when both are playoff teams in the same Conference, let alone the same Division. Sure it happens, but that's a big factor that teams will definitely consider.

Maybe they go with Barnes and run 4 6’8”-6’10” guys out there and dare anyone to score. They would be so great on the break. Adding in Trent and a couple shooters would be braking the mold.

That seems like it would make sense for all parties involved, particularly if you believe reports that Lowry is leaning Philly. Problem is Lowry would definitely have to take a paycut if he's expecting 30M/Year on the open market. That trade hardcaps Philly, and if Lowry is being paid 30M a year, the Sixers would be at 140M with 9 roster spots filled. 3 million left to fill 5 spots which is impossible.

Do you think Lowry is legitimately expecting 30M/yr though? Who's actually going to pay him that?

Both Lowe and Woj are saying Lowry's market is 25-30M per year, with various suitors. One team just opened up 25-35M to spend on him. I think he could get 30M, if that is the only thing he cared about. In this Philly deal, I think he would need to start at like 22M at the very least.

He shouldn't get 30 a year, but if you get a few suitors bidding against eachother, you never know. N.O. just went out and cleared themselves some space to potentially make a run.
I can see teams looking at him as their Chris Paul type of addition. Aging vet added to a young rising team that helps elevate them to upper tier playoff contender.

Lowe mentioned a few weeks back that there were murmurs of OKC shopping SGA because he didn't fit their time window.

    Nice, best news all day.

Also interesting that he's picking it up so early. His deadline date is Wednesday, and IIRC these things are usually picked up on the last day.

Guess his market was not very robust in FA, or perhaps there is a deal being discussed that needs him to opt in. (I'm projecting so hard here)

guys have been picking up/declining their options days in advance all offseason.

The Jones one was obvious, dunno why anyone really worried about it. He wouldn’t have gotten anything close to that in free agency. And yeah, I bet he’s traded soon.

Wonder who we could get if we attached a future first to DJJ.

    Tomas Satoransky?
    Larry Nance Jr.?
    Terrence Ross?
    DeAnthony Melton?

Also who could we swap 1:1 for?

    DeAndre Jordan (Ew)
    Josh Richardson
    Taurean Prince?
    Derrick Favors?
    Delon Wright?
    Cedi Osman?
