He is the perfect fit on this roster and you know what your getting with him... while he's not as good on D as Simmons, he's still a great player on both ends of the court.
Smart (and stuff)? I voted for Simmons though. Sixers will miss him. Whenever Sixers don’t have him they suck. Remember the 2020 playoffs? Also- Simmons led them on a 16 game win streak in his rookie year! Hot take: Simmons is better than Embiid. The best these Sixers have looked is when Simmons plays and Embiid doesn’t.
Here is the thing about this question -- right now even with Siakam's injury where he will miss the start of the season this is something NO ONE that I have seen but not the point but it is something to consider. Simmons has a lot more upside if he can get his head on straight and learn to shoot (all shots ) he would be hands DOWN better BUT right now with his issue then i would rather take Siakam cause he is a proven player who we KNOW what we will get from him night in and night out.
Simmons easily. I would gladly take Siakam as a very huge upgrade consolation prize. I don’t want to get better though. I want a championship and that means a swing for the fences trade. It’s Simmons AND Simmons is a great piece to rebuild around if for some reason Dame decides to leave. Again. I love Siakam, but y’all are crazy in how badly you undervalue Simmons. It’s criminal levels of underrated based on a goldfish like memory that seems to only reference this years playoffs and nothing else.
I would take either one. Simmons seems like more of a homerun swing. Siakam seems like the more surefire hit.
From a talent perspective, I'll take Simmons any day. However, when someone has a mental hang-up, sometimes it doesn't go away. Sometimes it causes then to lose confidence in other parts of their game. For me: Simmons = Some risk but potentially very high reward Siakam = Low risk and likely high reward Yes, the ceiling on Simmons is definitely higher, but when he has, seemingly, put in an artificial glass ceiling (mind games), it does raise the question of is he stuck? As @Phatguysrule said well, I think the price of Siakam will be lower and is a good solid hit. Simmons is swinging for the fences but you don't always get that home run. In short, I'd love the go with Simmons and hope for the best but would be ecstatic with Siakam.
Blehhhh gettin one - probably not Getting one - be happy we made a change Getting both - hahaha Rejoice! (Not possible)
One of them does not make us a championship contender. Two might. But that is a big maybe. We would still have less talent than the Lakers, Warriors, and maybe Denver.
I agree partly. Siakam would be a great fit but Simmons has overall the higher potential (and the higher risks) but maybe that is something we have to take into account if we want to make a deep run/win a chip. So I voted for Simmons. And I am unsure if we would get Siakam for much less but if yes I would go with Sly!
Really? Yes, I know that. But barring injuries I see the top 3 teams in the WC being GS, LA, and Denver.
In a vacuum Simmons, but Simmons is too fucking frustrating. Want to force Lillard to leave, make his #2 a man with a broken brain. I agree that Simmons is a swing for the fences and the naturally more gifted player. But, Siakam is a very good player on both ends and an excellent fit with the rest of the team.
