I actually think that when we win gold it will put him in a more motivated mood after having had teammates that covered for his bad games. He might come back with a gold and remind Neil that running it back isn't good enough but then again maybe Neil will sell him a used car and while he's at it the idea that running it back under Chauncey is a completely different thing.
To be fair, that was in part because Zach was injured. We had Nurk, Kanter and Zach. Now we have Nurk and Zeller. We have room for a third non-midget.
I guess if that meant his reach got even longer, but with a 7'1 wingspan is it really that important? I mean that is the same wing as Zach Collins, but with a much better vertical leap. For an SF he is tall enough. I have no problem playing him at the 4 as well.
All right, but he has to LIVE in the fucking weight room then. I actually see playing smallball 4 as his best route to relevance, because he just doesn't have the skills of a wing.
To summarize our offseason (SO FAR) Out: -Stotts -Melo -Kanter -Giles -Hollis-Jefferson -Collins -Blevins In: -Billups -McLemore -Zeller -Brown oof
Actually I as wrong, his wing is 7'2" I don't think his strength will be an issue. Covid caused him to lose weight, but he comes in at 220 already. I don't want him adding too much more weight where he would lose his explosiveness. 225-230 max IMO
it does irrationally worry me that the so called forgone conclusion of a Melo-to-LA deal has not been reported yet.
Love what we've done so far, but.... if our starters are the same as last year's, it's going to feel a lot like "running it back." I'm not completely opposed to that, but not my first choice.
I watched Nance play in college (when he would play Nevada in the Mountain West) and followed his career ever since. I see him more as an athletic PF than a 5. He's only 6'7" but plays much bigger and ABOVE the rim! He got alot of his dad's height... but not all of it unfortunately since he was 6'10".
A Jae Crowder type role for Nas would be a great floor for him. His ceiling is still a Gerald Wallace type player
