Something that just occurred to me and putting all the pieces together could there be a deal already in place for Dame with the Sixers? Maybe Dame didn’t want to deal with everything before the Olympics and cause a media storm. It leaked about the request, and Dame wasn’t happy. So both sides agree to keep it quiet until after the Olympics. This may just be the lack of movement getting to me but if he is traded immediatly after returning this would be my guess on how it went down. NO builds around CJ and Simmons +.
That would be the worst possible scenario. These moves made already scream a CJ trade. I just have no faith in our idiotic GM to see it.
Like sand through the hour glass… Lillard isn’t getting any younger…. A whole season wasted for the possibility of the Neil pulling something miraculous off when he hasn’t in the 10 years prior?
Simmons is better than you think. He had a bad series against the Hawks but he has had some sensational series for the Sixers. And guess how many playoff games they won without him in 2020? Zero. He’s the best defender in the league and a great playmaker. He has flaws but he absolutely impacts winning. In his ROOKIE year, Embiid got hurt and Simmons led them on a 16 game winning streak. Hot take: they should trade Embiid and keep Simmons. He’s that good.
My only concern is now Dame is getting doubled more. If we don't have 2 capable 3 point shooters then Dame is gonna have to play hero ball. For all the defense in the world, I dont want that. Not worth it. Hard pass and no one can convince me otherwise.
Powell and RoCo can hit threes. So can Snell and McLemore. Simmons HELPS us when Dame gets doubled. Dame gives the ball to Simmons and then he goes 4 on 3. In that situation, our opponents are screwed. Simmons is the best teammate Dame could have!
You don’t want Simmons to have the ball going for 4 on 3 with the floor spread? Listen to what I’m telling you.
No. It's not a 4 on 3 in the fourth quarter of the playoffs because to count as an offensive threat you have to take more than one shot in 44 minutes. Dude can't shoot outside of 3 feet. Easy to rotate when you have to simply rotate to the basket. The only way he works is if you completely take the ball out of Dames hands which is silly.
A decent coach will be able to devise an offensive scheme to take advantage of the doubles and traps teams throw at Dame. Stotts is gone. Little early in Chauncey's tenure to assume that he'll be stymied by something so obvious, don't you think?
between simmons, siakam, harris, cj mccollum & gsw and maybe even sac, it seems like there will be trades how, when & where, i dont know, but i believe theres a high chance some trades around these players happen
it seems like relationship between siakam & raps is broken and its only a matter of time before siakam is moved elsewhere rumours of simmons being shopped are loud and there are rumours that harris is available too gsw & sac are looking to make a big move, i only dont know if neil olshey is open to moving cj mccollum i dont know if theres other team(s) that could get into the mix (maybe minnesota & cleveland)
