I love it but find it bothersome that CJ said Billups needs to hold them accountable. That's been the issue. Hold your damn selves accountable.
Like your post and appreciate the exchange! My John Wall example wasn't comparing him directly to CJ, but pointing out a clear cut example where nobody could argue salary matters. Is CJ a better value than John Wall? Of course! If he made $10m year for the next 4 years, team would have much more interest in him. I think to try and dismiss the importance of salary in a trade would be taking out a critical piece all GMs look at when assessing if they want to trade for someone.
He said he wanted us to be "be more urgent" & "put action behind it" in regards to the roster. I don't know how anyone can say this roster has seen urgent, actionable moves this summer.
Because there haven't been any. It's literally the same playbook from the last 9 years. Really the only "home run" trade Neil ever has done was the afflalo trade to shore up the bench. And we know how that went. The nurkic trade doesn't even count cause nurkic was the throw in. That was the ground ball that got misplayed into a double. Trade cj. It's the only way to try to make this team better. We have Powell who is so much more valuable to this team with his skillset than cj will ever be. And there isn't an argument to that. Trade cj.
