Feel like adding Love at this point is basically like adding Carmelo. Past their prime, great players, maybe they come in occasionally and play great but zero defense.
Would we even want Kevin Love for the minimum? I agree with others it would have similar downsides as Melo's time here. Dame/CJ/Powell/Nurk/Simons don't need an additional role player who primarily provides offensive help... we need 2 way role players. Plus if Love is outplayed by NAS or someone else, he won't be happy with a DNP.
He's have to accept the Harry Giles 3rd big man role...he can rebound and pass really well..he can shoot...we need a third big but he would probably take minutes away from Greg Brown more than anybody
Love is the guy that will give you 12 and 8, and you'll think, "hey, that ain't bad!" Yet, you look up and your ten-point lead is gone and now you're down by five. I wouldn't take him for the minimum.
There is no chance Love would be happy in Harry Giles role. If thats the role, then just sign Harry Giles.
I honestly think we need a 3rd string center or a pt guard for that 14th roster spot...Mudiay wouldn't break the bank as a 3rd string PG..I'd have no problem bringing Harry back on the cheap..really rather have Ed Davis...wouldn't complain about minutes..great teammate..loves Portland
I see you’ve been sipping on the crazy juice again. Do you see what you just typed? Guy has one dunk in a SUMMER LEAGUE GAME and now you want him playing ahead of Kevin Love? MAN! Guess who Billups and Dame would want out there? Guess FAMS?
You're going to love the Melo vibes at Staples bro...I'm happy for you....you get to see the end of their respective careers!
If the Blazers can add Love for min., he would be a valuable asset. He still can shoot, & rebound. Those bench role saavy vets always seem to come through in the wildest situations. Rather have Kevin, that some raw, clueless, youngster who's wet behind the ears.
Love would be great for the minimum but really adding Rondo for the remainder of the MLE would be perfect for our second unit.
This right here. Get the ball out of cj’s hand and have him play his sg position. I think this alone would improve our offense on the second unit. Rhondo is an elite passer and one of the best full court vision players in the history of the game. Nas, brown , simons would have a field day running the court with him and cj would be the dagger in that offense when it comes to the half court game. Plus Rhondo can mask some of cj’s defensive deficiencies.
