Certainly this sort of shakeup would change the 76ers offensive attack. Simmons can drive, dish & finish but he can't shoot. The strengths of his game push Embiid out of the paint where he's most effective... their games are not complimentary. On offense it's best to only have one guy who lives in the paint. While I don't think CJ is an equal talent to Ben, the strengths of his game project to mesh better with Embiid's. They could be a fearsome pick and roll combo plus CJ for Ben would give them much better spacing with Joel on the block. It's on the other end of the court the 6ers would take a real step back.

I'm concerned about Simmons between the ears, or, what short of competitor is he? This far into his career it's hard to come up with a good reason he hasn't dedicated himself to address his obvious Achilles heal. Breaking bad habits and learning correct shot mechanics should be a given for someone driven to succeed. A reasonable J would make him unguardable and an all time great, but a superstar talent with a lack luster attitude doesn't make a great building block. I don't know this to be true about Ben, but there seem to be red flags.

With Harden publicly pouting bad mouthing the Houston franchise, fighting teammates and saying NJ only, do you really feel these two situations are the same?

Um, have you been following the whole Philly vs. Ben Simmons situation??? As it is, the only team known to really want Simmons, the Wolves, won't even offer D'Angelo Russell for him.

Philly should just find a way to make him happy and keep him. This is getting to be re-goddamn-diculous.

haha seriously, I don’t get this post or anyone that likes it. Shaq was a underachiever? Widely regarded as one if not the best big man ever to play, and for sure the most dominant player ever to play. The man has 4 rings haha, seriously if he can’t criticize Simmons then who can. The man was making rap albums while being dominate in the NBA, the Kobe beef was drama but they won rings together.

its completely different to Simmons and his situation. Simmons hasn’t done shit in the NBA yet, and actually regressed since coming the NBA. Did Shaq do that? What Shaq said is 100% true, I mean Simmons skilled set is being challenged and all fans and his peers want to see is him actually improving, and not posting the shit he did on social media. Shaq is right NBA fans don’t care about that, fans like that him want to see him you know actually improve lol.

Think that bridge is burned, which is why Philly is finding out the hard way they were asking for way, way too much.

And they're also finding out the hard way what holding the bag feels like.

His value is completely in the toilet now because he came out and said he's not going to play for Philly and will sit out camp. Everyone knows they have no leverage anymore.

Disagree. Supply and demand, stars always have value to teams in need of a gamble in which there are many.

Right but just the fact that you're defining a three time all star and two time all defensive teamer as a gamble is a bad thing for Philly. Of course they're still going to get a good price in return for Simmons but the further backed into a corner they seemingly get the lower that price on the offers for Ben drops.

They would be smart to trade him before he actually starts sitting out camp if they aren't planning on keeping him until he has to play and hopefully recoups some of his value. With a team looking to win now that is a very dangerous game to play, it would likely throw off the team's chemistry and who knows how far down the Harden rabbit hole he'd go. He might not even try to play well if he plays. Their best move is to take the best price they can get for him before training camp... and for a win now team that means the deal that gets them playing the best the day they make it.

Only way to do that is to trade Embiid and Doc. I am find with Nurkic, Zeller, Ant, filler and picks for him... They will have to find another team for Doc.

His value is what it is. Nothing will change that. Every team vying for him knows the situation. Teams willing to trade assets for him are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Nobody is going to trade for Simmons with anything but open arms. Otherwise they wouldn't do it in the first place.

You're discounting negotiation. The more of a problem he is for the Sixers the more opposing GMs have leverage. Of course no one will trade for him unless they want him but it's far more nuanced than how you're describing it.

Prediction: I'm guessing that either tomorrow or Monday the trade of Ben Simmons+filler for CJ, Roco, and a FRP will be announced. Neil didn't want the news to come during Dame's wedding/Honeymoon.
Dame, Powell, Simmons, Nance, Nurk will be the starting lineup on opening night.

    Am I wrong?

If CJ and RoCo go to Philly we will not be sending a pick with them. Also we'll be getting better than "filler". It will be Thybulle or possibly Maxie.

I agree to a point. The biggest factor is still who is bidding and how high will they go.

I’m huge into a Simmons trade but thats way too much. RoCo plus CJ is very possible, but we would be getting either Maxey or preferably Curry back. The FRP in particular is a fuck no if we are trading RoCo.
