Crap, I bet Simmons somehow ends up on Houston now.

nah, no way Philly takes on that Wall contract even if it comes with assets attached. Nor will Houston get that kinda return.

Maybe if he agrees to not pick up that player option for 47 mil next year, but that ain't happening.

Looking through the landscape of non-rebuilding teams, I don't see many that: 1) have contracts that add up to the salary he makes, 2) need a PG. The only one that sorta made sense was the Clippers (Bledsoe/Morris/Ibaka for Wall). But LA loses a ton of vital depth for that package.

    that's not in the cards.

Sources said there are no buyout plans on the two years and $91.7 million remaining on Wall’s contract — including a $47.4 million player option for the 2022-23 season.

This getting ridiculous. You're paying the guy not to play. That just doesn't make sense. And is bad for team chemistry. Players get hammered for not being loyal, but what about the team. What Houston, you worried he plays well with the new additions, and you have a good record? Whoa be that. Can't mess with those draft picks.

Agree, Neil should have called and said they were moving on. Carmelo earned that. Melo was mature and took the high road. I will say Neil did give him an op for redemption, and it worked. So Neil did him a solid in the end, when nobody else cared.

Perhaps Boston is a destination for Wall. They have that bloated Horford contract. Once Richardson is eligible to be traded, Celtics can flip Horford + Richardson for Wall.

There is literally nowhere that would trade for Wall. Seriously.

...I just figured that, after the Dame debacle and losing all credibility, ole Hanky Abbott was moving on from sports :dunno: no better place to make a splash than in the red hot conspiracy markets!

He was literally traded last year. Now the contract is better.

We hear this all the time about untradeable contracts, then they get traded, sometimes multiple times.

44m according to ESPN trade machine -- who the hell is going to take on that contract ?

Answer : NO ONE -- only way I would take on that contract is attach 2 future 1st's then I might but anything short of that IF I was a NBA GM I would be hanging up the phone the moment the Rockets GM said " Want to trade for Wall " ... Click phone down --- LOL

I don't buy this... Neil always goes out of his way to help agents.

I'd guess Davis and Melo were hoping for a Blazers offer and Neil wasn't ready to give one.
