I both loved and hated Maia. His championship fights have been two of the most boring fights in history. That said, he had slick submission wins and was the Ultimate Fighter Killer. Wins over Matt Brown, Neil Magny, Kendall Grove, Ed Herman, Nate Quarry. Just ran through guys from the Ultimate Fighter pipeline up until Usman. My favorite Maia fight ever was UFC 88 against Jason McDonald. McDonald actually tried to go after Maia on the ground and it is probably some of the best grappling exchanges in UFC history.

Stipe doesn't know why he can't get a rematch. He can't get at the interim belt, either. UFC seem to want to move on from him.

Tony Ferguson has gone AWOL and the UFC can't get in touch with him.

Its probably for the best. Dude doesn't need to be fighting anymore. I hope his mental health is okay and he's just taking a break from the sport.

Jake Paul wants to fight Jorge Masvidal who I assume is still under contract.

To be fair, Leon has had a lot of bad luck trying to get matchups. And to top it off, he comes in and soundly beats Nate Diaz but somehow comes out of that fight as the loser because he looked passive and couldn't get the finish, on top of it, the only thing people remember is Nate rocking his fucking head and nearly finishing him. Probably would have finished Leon if he didn't taunt him. Leon seems to be the only fighter that could dominate 4 rounds of a fight and somehow lose stock.

Leon needs one more win before he gets a crack at Usman. Go beat Burns, Wonderboy, or Masvidal.

Sandhagen the favorite to jump in for interim title fight.

Also, Derrick Lewis is fighting in December vs Chris Daukaus
Brunson vs. Cannonier title eliminator in Januarry
RDA is out of his fight against Islam. Injured for the 70th time. Cut him, already.

Tyson Fury is up there in the HW GOAT conversations. Props to him tonight. Props to Wilder, too.

Wilder refused to shake his hand or congratulate Fury after the fight. Disgraceful. You had three cracks at it, no shame in losing except being a sore loser.

Fury could fight at this level for another five years.

He's a classless individual. He was absurd after the 1st fight in accepting the draw. 99% of the world knew Fury won that fight. He was even more absurd after the 2nd fight with his Fury cheated claims, water was tainted, my walkout gear gassed me, etc...fuck Deontay Wilder. He accepted defeat in a statement today but still classless to not want to show sportsmanship or respect. What a fucking tool. I give it two weeks before he makes ridiculous claims about this 3rd fight.

What needs to happen is Fury/Usyk, Joshua/Wilder, Ruiz/White. What's like to happen is Fury vs. the winner of Wallin/Whyte, Joshua/Usyk II, and who knows with Ruiz and Wilder. Will Wilder retire? As much as I can't stand him, I still think he beats Joshua via KO at some point in that fight the Right will land and Joshua has no chin.

I feel like they've gotta do Joshua now because you can't rely on him to win against another top HW.

Jorge Masvidal vs. Leon Edwards likely for UFC 269. Tough fight for Masvidal who won't get a title shot if he wins, but will lose status if he loses. Edwards not having to rematch Belal Muhammad is probably for the best since a win over Masvidal puts him in line to fight Usman/Covington. Muhammad is just super average.
