$8.5M per would be great. I'll pay for an extra year or two on the back end to save $1M or more per of AAV. This would be a good deal. In 7 or 8 years the cap will be up, and I'm sure if we buy out the last year or two it won't be a killer with more money being paid out early.

That’s a great deal for the rangers. Now tell the Buffalo GM to go fuck himself. I think this is gonna be chytil breakout year. And Barron is gonna be a player for us shortly and maybe now if strome is hurt! Really liked how we played against the piles A team with all the guys we were missing! Looking forward to the season and getting off to a good start for a change despite 5 of the first 6 on the road. LETS GO RANGERS!

BREAKING: Rangers, Zibanejad agree on extension, Post has learned, eight years in the range of $8.5M per...A year or two more than NYR would have preferred, but allows the AAV to be workable...Should put a damper on Eichel talk.

This, too, on the 8 years for Zibanejad: I very much doubt anyone in NYR organization is worrying about what 2027-28 will bring and that includes the executive chairman/CEO.

Panarin, Zibanejad, Kreider, Goodrow, Chytil, Trouba, Lindgren, Miller, Shesterkin (5F, 3D, 1G) will account for $51.925M of cap space next year. Fox likely to come in at least $9M per on his deal, Kakko will be on second contract.

Personally, I still think we did not adequately address the need for a C upgrade/we didn't add anyone who can win faceoffs, and I think it will cost them this season, but to bring Zibanejad back for $8.5M per is a very good move. Anything less than $9M would have been solid.

$8.5m/yr is a huge bargain. Glad they extended him! Now get a #2C not named Jack Eichel!
