    Hello darkness, my old friend
Just like in the NFL--the most recent CBA codified harsh penalties for players who hold out, so players began "holding in." Attending training camp (so, not classified as hold outs) but not participating.

It'll be quite interesting if Simmons executes that strategy--showing up, but basically not participating. I don't know what that would look like once games start, but I'm here for it.

Samanic has some potential offensively. But we need someone bigger than 227 lbs.

Nance is an excellent small ball center. We will be fine.

I'm officially rooting for Simmons to get traded to the Knicks. A team light years from contention. A frustrated fan base. A mean, old-school coach. Arguably the worst owner in the league.

    Who's got the popcorn?

Why is your hatred directed solely at Simmons and not Morey, Rivers or Embiid? This perplexes me about the folks who don't want this All-NBA talent on our team for a non-All-Star plus a reasonable amount of assets.

I've said this before, but if Simmons really wants out of Philly, the fastest way is by showing up and tanking his play.

Go watch the youtube of Nance guarding Embiid. He will be a hell of a lot better than Kanter.

So, does this mean they're going to wait until he's washed up and THEN he'll sign with the Blazers?

Ben will shine big time once the season starts and his camp will not go public during season about trade demands.

Actually, I told you before I would be perfectly happy to see Morey fired. If you mean hate on Rivers over his post loss comments I honestly don't think that is justified. As for Embiid, I have said the team should have odered him to apologize and keep his comments in the locker-room...but...I also believe Simmons should have been adult enough to sit down with him and at least make an honest effort to hash it out.

I assume what prompted this was my comments about him going to the Knicks? That was in response to the speculation that he will report (so he gets paid) and then either fake injury or just dog it. Let me be perfectly clear - I consider such conduct absolutely unacceptable. My opinion on this subject is non-negotiable. Either show up and do your best or stay home and forfeit your paycheck.

I don't expect others to agree with me, but I am an old-fasioned crank who still believes in honor and ethics.

Ah, well actually I agree with all of that. Thanks for clarifying, Mercury retrograde for the loss. :P
