For those who can't read THE HCP's post: Be sure to turn into the Blazer game on Root Sports through Dish, Hulu, and YouTube TV at 2pm on Wednesday.

You guys can’t find 2 other blazer fan buddies who will put up on FuboTV with ya? It’ll be like 20 something bucks a month. And it looks like FuboTV does allow shared accounts.

After the season is over cancel because I’m also reading FuboTV has no contract.

My YouTubeTV account will still be my primary setup because fuck Comcast I refuse to go back to them.

Why isn’t this option talked about more

I did a trial for fubo for a Ducks game week 1. I let my buddy log in to, and it booted me saying that it was in use elsewhere. Now granted I didn’t do a ton of research so maybe there was a setting I needed to do. But it did boot me.

I understand your idea. And I don’t think people are saying they should have taken like half or whatever. Im not a business guy so I can’t say for certain it would even matter at all. But id wonder if it was just a floundering franchise like the Kings or something if these moves would hurt them. Dame brings in the viewers for sure. But sometimes it might be better to make a little less up front, to make more in the long run with fans and a bigger brand that you grew. Ultimately it may only be a few like me who went from 20-30 games a year from 60 miles out of town, to literally 1 game since Comcast deal started. But imo it’s a risk to alienate your local fan base, when let’s be honest, (especially without Dame) most fans nationwide don’t give two craps about the Blazers.

Ah interesting but I’m also reading you can pay for a higher tier for shared accounts..

Yeah maybe it didn’t apply for trial or something who knows. But definitely something for folks to read up on to be sure.

When it pops up, it almost looks like when you get those youtube questions randomly. It's embedded in the screen, and not actually a part of any broadcast, if that makes sense.

Oh they would charge so much more than that per month. Especially if they make it the only way to see it. $30-40 would be the bottom end of their starting price per month.

One logical fallacy here is the idea that not losing fans despite restricted availability is equivalent to gaining fans via a wider distribution. The "take the most money now" mindset is extremely short-term thinking. Greater availability would lead to increased viewership, and this greater revenue in future distribution deals.

It's also on the Blazers. They aren't blameless here. They signed a lucrative contract that can screw their fans.

They either made that choice, or they were too stupid to consider protecting their fans.

Either way, they share some of the blame. There is nothing they can do until the next contract, but that doesn't remove their culpability.

I'm not sure they would have to charge that much. They would get the ad revenue from commercials rather than the provider. That should be able to offset some of the cost.

Does anybody know how much it costs to run a commercial during a Blazer game in the regular season?

Then I guess they are guilty of signing a deal that makes them the most money then. A wise business decision, maybe not so wise for fans of this site or my family. I have friends who lost their businesses and a restaurant during 2020..... I don't blame businesses any more for doing what helps them succeed. Just don't.

are you really trying to equate the decisions a 2 billion dollar franchise makes to those that a family business does?

Not sure so many of you are upset with @THE HCP about this, it's like you're upset over the dividends from your McDonald's stock so you yell at the fry cook.

i don't think anyone is upset with him as much as they are incredulous at his notion that the blazers should be absolved of any blame for this issue.
