Hopefully Lundkvist and Gauthier both back in the lineup. Let's pray Gallant is not as dumb as Quinn by putting Strome at RW on the first PP unit and has Kakko there where he can one time it if needed. I have faith he will figure it out. I'm praying that Gallant doesn't change lines and tells the guys this is your line, figure out how to produce on it. Though, I'd actually like to see Gauthier on the Zibanejad line and Kreider on a line with Chytil. IMO, Kreider has lost several steps. Gauthier is faster than him now.

I'm thinking Kreider will move to the 3rd line if Drury can package Kravtsov with perhaps a Jones and another decent prospect for a young, fairly proven wing that can fit with Zibanejad. I believe the Zibanejad-Kreider chemistry will vanish as Kreider is now moving into the point of his career where he should be used as a third line, defensive forward against other top lines.

I said it last week, I just don't like the makeup of this team. The obsession with adding grit and toughness was over the top. Yes we needed to add those elements, but it was all Drury/Sather/Dolan focused on, and doubled and tripled down on it - overkill IMO.

Every one of us said last year we need another top C to really take the next step. We need someone to win a big FO. We didn't address that at all and still have Strome at # 2. That is not good enough IMO.

I also 100% believe Kreider should be on the 3rd line. That is where he belongs now. I'd really like a 3rd line of Kreider/Chytil/Goodrow. That is a very good 3rd line. We just need to find a RW to put in the top 6 and play Lafreniere and Panarin as the top 2 LW's.

Overall I hope I am wrong and this is a strong playoff team, but I have my concerns as mentioned.

Looking at this team the biggest problem is not a 2nd center but our defense. Outside of fox the others are like 5 turnstiles

I don't think they added that much toughness to be over the top. Goodrow is a good hockey player. So is Blais. Just happens they are tough. Rooney will be out next year and Barron will take his place. He's talented and can play it tough also. There is more than enough talent offensively at forward and on d. Zibanejad is a stubborn jackass. He needs to change his game and he's not doing it. He also stops skating against physical, defensive teams. Why I have no idea. He's a powerful skater who is very dangerous when he's skating. He seems to have a defeated attitude when he faces physical teams. I hope Gallant gets through to his dumbass. Fucking Drury gave him 8 years of a NMC. Smh. I thought we were done with that shit with non franchise players after Gorton left. Zibanejad can be a very good player. He's not a franchise player.

Mika is far from the biggest concern on the roster as currently constructed. He will get his goals and assists. Same with Panarin. Not concerned at all about either of those two. Fox and Lindgren will continue to be a very effective if not excellent d-pair. Blais will take himself out of position regularly to make a hit but will keep opposing teams honest. Reeves will be great at delivering punishing hits. Aside from that, this team and season is full of question marks.

Ahh….Blais is already hurt. Hopefully he won’t turn into Callahan. Playing like a madmen every single game and getting hurt constantly.

All they did was add toughness as if that was the only missing ingredient. Then they doubled and tripled down on it. They did nothing else. I disagree that is all we needed, and I think it will leave us in a tough spot this season. Hopefully it doesn't play out that way.

Zibanejad is a huge concern. He’s turning into a player that is not getting goals and assists against physical teams when the games count. I don’t give a shit if he gets six points in back to back games vs shitty flyers.

Pre-game. I find it disturbing that every time we play a team they talk about how great the team is defensively and nobody ever says that about the Rangers. I have this feeling that until Schneider is on the team with experience this team is never going to be a good defensive team.
