the issues is you want quantifiable, graphical evidence for everything and that doesn't always exist. But doesn't mean something cant be because of that.

I don't believe anything strongly without evidence or expert testimony.

Without at least one of those in the equation nothing serious is really worth discussing, IMO.

And the existence of either supercedes anecdotes and non expert opinion in almost all cases.

so can you please prove to me that a tree in an empty forest makes a sound when it falls?

Prove it with evidence or you are wrong.

If the forest is truly empty, there is no sound, because there is no air or other media to move in response.
Moreover, there is no tree to fall in an empty forest.

    typical Barfo bs post.

    ill spell it out…

@Phatguysrule, if there are no humans that have ever entered a forest, when a tree falls, does it make an audible sound?

Humans aren't the only living thing that can hear

yep. Now prove the bear heard it.

don't join Barfos bs spin on semantics bro. You know the point of the question and so does he.

no one will give a real answer because it doesn't fit their narrative about anecdotal evidence.

    so instead play semantics.
    Telling….

Walk up behind a bear and make a loud sound. It will hear you.

All I am saying is yes, it will make a sound

If something exists there is evidence for it. I could claim a purple unicorn lives in my house. But no one else can see, hear or feel it. You would reasonably conclude I am either pulling your leg or cuckoo. It would not be reasonable to conclude the unicorn must be there because no one has proven it doesn't.

I know. Common sense says so. But can you provide proof of my scenario?

The notion that everything must have evidence to be taken seriously is flawed.

You consider that proof? That because a bear can hear you behind it, a tree makes a sound in a humanless forest that a bear can hear?

    I'm pretty sure it's sepersonics.

    Semantics is sexist.
