Hasn't Kyrie repeatedly said he only said that to F with the Media? You seem to bring it up every chance you get. I mean who cares? People believe in all kinds of stupid stuff.

We have 3 vet guards who are on big contracts. From an overall roster construction standpoint, giving a big deal to our 4th best guard makes no sense!

Disagree, I'm fine with the Collins pick. Guy had real promise, the draft is always a gamble.

The Meyers and Turner contracts are unforgivable.

Not if we go 30-52. Even if he has good stats, it will be seen as empty stats.

Then we can have him for cheap since he is also the most talented player Neil has ever drafted.

Year #4 and has yet to be a consistent contributor.

He’s either going to breakout like Trent did or maybe he’s just another Bryn Forbes - solid 8th/9th guy.

Trent broke out in his 2nd year when he'd just turned 21. Simons is in his 4th season and he's well over 22. Sure, he could still break out, but he really hasn't flashed any consistent skill except for 3 point shooting

Why would we extend Ant unless it was for around 7M a season? We let him play out the season and have the chance to match any offer made to him. That's a very simple decision.

    I wouldn't extend him at $7M/yr. He hasn't shown he's worth that

The Blazers won't be extending Simons. He will become a RFA next off-season.

He is worth the risk at 7 million. He is better than DJj and Jones was worth it as well. Simons at 7 million would be a good trade asset at the very least.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
$7M is well above the TPMLE, as I noted in another thread. I don't think any team would use it's full (tax payer's) MLE on Simons if Simons were a free agent, so he'd have to improve by leaps and bounds to become a "good trade asset." Considering Simons started out as completely unplayable and has improved only modestly over a few years, I would definitely not gamble a $7M/year deal on his improving that much.

A guard who can do nothing well except execute catch-and-shoot jumpers isn't worth more than the minimum. The Warriors just waived a guy, Mychal Mulder, who fits that description. I might add a million or two extra per year (above the minimum) in hopes that Simons' athleticism translates into something (it hasn't yet), but that's about it.

It's amazing you have two false statements in one short sentence.
