what you fail to get( easy to do on a text only forum) is half my posts are playing devils advocate and arent necessarily my personal point of view. i do this because of the hard lines being drawn by many, that i consider ridiculous, because almost all things are compromisable. But i tire of the, “if you think this, you must be that”, bs thats been tossed around here for so long. If i voted for trump im a racist supporter. stuff like that has compelled me to be silly and mock half that shit. You in turn take it all literal, as if its my core belief. Without any context to be considered. The discussion on abortions is a perfect example of this… So you can consider yourself some forum info hero, if pounding your chest makes you feel better. but im telling you now. Its not really getting you anywhere…Or not near as far as you might think. Every time you toss an unneeded, condescending comment my way, you just help to shore up the wall. not a great way of breaking the wall down. i hope you come to see that.
A claim needs evidence to be taken seriously. An opinion or statement of preference doesn't need evidence, but it's also not worth discussing unless you personally find it interesting. A claim is something like, "A rise in capital gains taxes causes the economy to slow down." If you don't have evidence to back up the claim, it's pointless. You can claim whatever you want but it holds no weight without evidence. An opinion or statement of preference is something like, "I don't like what the [Republican/Democratic] party stands for." That's fine and doesn't require any evidence. But it also has no real discussion value outside of someone who just finds that fascinating and wants to understand what makes you tick.
