Just so I know. Are we not placing any of the blame for Barnes’ career night on the new coach? Because Stotts would have been getting killed over it. Just want to know how this works.

Loved the bench energy. Looks like Ant has been freed and Nas is a disruptor... if he can stay healthy. Cody was solid and Nance woul be better.

What's with the zombie, way too empty arena? That was a bit depressing.

Giving up 76 points between the 2nd and 3rd quarters... yuck. Another car high given up by this starting 5. #defensematters

Good Nurk is a presence. Flip Nurk is infuriating.

Dame was not good tonight. Shot selection, effort, recognizing teammates are way hotter than he is.

RoCo BETTER be amazing as a help defender because on ball, that was brutal.

If it continues to happen without change, then yes the blame can be put on the new coach. But since it’s only this new coach’s first game, it’s to be determined.

    Now you know.

Anyone else notice that Dame exited stage left directly after missing the shot. In previous years Dame got everyone together at center court. Also I felt there was tension between CJ and Nurk. Reading body language after plays and the way they looked at each other. Might be reading too much into it. The basketball will come around, but if the team ain’t together that’s a whole other problem.

If Dame will play like this, he will be fresh for playoffs.

Billups defense getting shredded in game 1 is much, much different than Stotts getting shredded in game 820. That’s how that works for me, maybe not for others?

Comparing year 1 game 1 is much different than comparing year 10 game 820.

Kinda like how I’ll accept rookie mistakes but I can’t accept rookie mistakes from a 10 year vet, such as blowing your last timeout on a dumb challenge instead of advancing the ball for a GW shot.

Don't be silly. This week, Doc Rivers and Morey are the designated dead horses. Please proceed with your beating in a dignified, restrained, and quiet manner.

By the time Billups does something to actually earn chastisement, there will nothing for the rest of us but hooves and a few scattered teeth.

That was still a good challenge because they reversed the continuation and it saved us two points.

Edit: I thought it was dumb we lost a timeout because I figured Billups was challenging the continuation of the call not the call itself.

Zeller has played more than 10 minutes in his career.

    Which team? Kings or Blazers?

Once they get Ben Simmons, yes. This game went perfect. CJ showcased his game for Morey and Dame told Morey "I'm not THAT good. Take CJ."

No. You lost $200 because you were stupid with your money and didn't watch this team for the last 2-3 weeks.
I figure you are actually a Philly fan that is trying to start some kind of movement but sorry that really work around here. You don't understand Blazer fans at all.
    We actually understand the game.

We out-rebounded them by 6, only had 12 turnovers, and our bench looked really, really good.

It's so refreshing to have bench players come in and actually improve our defense.

And they knocked down 11 of 17 shots for 25 points. For people worrying about us losing out on the offensive production of Kanter and Melo, well, it certainly didn't show tonight. (Meanwhile, Kanter got a DNP in his Boston debut loss, and Melo put up 9 points on 33% shooting in his Laker debut loss.)

This one was on Dame. It's really hard for us to win when he goes 0-9 on threes. The good news is that I looked through the regular season game logs of his entire career, and it was literally the second worst three point shooting performance he's ever had. (Three years ago he went 0-10 against our old friend Jrue Holiday and the Pelicans. We lost that one too.) I don't know who this Davion Mitchell is, but he definitely made his mark as a defender in his rookie debut. Hats off to him. Tonight was completely out of character for Dame.

    C'mon man.
First off. Barnes was making freaking everything.
Next you got to look at the whole picture. Same to be said for those blaming RoCo.
    Work in progress.
Lets look to some positives on this and move on because there were plenty of positives to look to.

To answer your question though. Yes i do believe some of the blame goes on Billups.

@THE HCP do you or anyone else still feel Zeller isnt a solid replacement for Kanter and we will miss him?

zeller had much better foot speed than i thought and i was really impressed with his ability to close out on the three point line on help defense and then get right back to the paint.
