Its an 82 game season. There are going to be several clunkers, especially with one of the youngest teams in the league.

They need to stop signing these veteran rejects when they have guys like Hajek, Barron and Richards who provide more speed and upside as well as faceoffs.

Panarin is still playing east-west which is the problem. And as you pointed out he keeps passing up one good shot after the other to pass to someone in a worse scoring position. Happy with the rangers start but if not for Igor the record is probably reversed. The grit is good but there is a sore need for more offense especially on the PP. Kakko coming back Friday will help but would really help if chytil would chip in some offense. Laf is lost with zman but looked pretty good with chytil and Blais and I would reunite that line, put kreids back on his normal left wing with zman and maybe give Kakko a shot with them. Panarin and Strome need to stay together with Barclay and then well have 3 decent lines for the moment.I like the way Barron plays but until they move chytil which I think is coming to clear room for the kid theres no room. As for the defense its a disaster. there was 2 or 3 plays yesterday where a flame forward had the puck 10 feet in front of Igor with no defense in sight and Igor stoned them. Nemeth and Lundqvist are a disaster together. Miller has played better this year and is actually starting to use his body which is good to see but as a young player still makes some mind boggling turnovers on defense that the ranger will live with thru the growing pains. Fox is great but even he is making some key mistakes back there on D. Its a young D that will hopefully grow but I don't think they have their best young dmen up here. I think jones and Schneider should be the third pair right now. The PP is so bad I almost wish they would decline them. We're back to using 5 righties and nobody wants to shoot the friggin puck. Everybody lookin for the highlight reel pass play that comes once in a blue moon. Have 3 days of practice before the next game with Columbus. Time for GG and Drury to make a few changes with the squad. Eventual deal imo for the future trade for a center will include chytil, Lundqvist, maybe another prospect and a pick or 2.

I don't know why they make it so difficult on themselves with the pp. Fox needs to use his wrist shot more and Panarin should be getting one timers from his spot at the circle. Not enough traffic around the net. Zibanejad keeps taking shots that have no shot at beating the goalie and end up going the other way. The whole team still sucks at hitting the net.

You got that right. Panarin should be in the high slot more. Kakko when he comes back should be on RW to one time it from there if possible. Every team knows that they are trying to get Zibanejad for a one timer. Problem is he's not Ovechkin with it. He sucks at it compared to him. Their PP is predictable. If you had Kakko one timing from RW, Zibanejad from the left wing and Panarin sneaking into the high slot more, they would score some fucking goals.
