He is worth every penny. This organization would be a dumpster fire without him right now. We should be thankful that he chose the Rangers.
Trouba isn’t the problem the problem is another fucking coach is putting Strome and Kreider on the first power-play unit and not developing Lafreniere and Kakko
Yes, and he was in the last year of his current deal, so he was eligible for extension. Largest contract ever for a player coming off their entry level deal. Landed where you'd expect it would, but I do wonder why no 8th year to lower the AAV down to $9M maybe. I guess Fox only wanted 7 so he could be a UFA sooner.
I agree with KAKKO for strome but Kreids is the best front net presence in hockey and a force on the PP. Laf would probably replace zman who I’m sick of seeing the flailing never on target one timers with Kreids taking the faceoffs which he’s good at
So I have to ask, are we so full of ourselves as fans that we think we have all the answers? When multiple coaches take a similar approach, and play guys like Mckegg and Hunt, put Lafreniere on the 3rd line, and scratch guys like Gauthier, is it possible they know/see things we don't? I know it is crazy and we rather knock the coach and leadership, but maybe just maybe they are onto something.
No it’s called doing research and using common sense which you don’t fucking do. When your power play ranked 14th and 22nd in the league with Panerin ans Fox you aren’t putting the right guys out there. Kreider and Strome are not corner stone players. When you get the first and the second overall picks in the draft and they are wingers you put them on the first fucking power-play unit like every other team in the league
Translation - I am smarter than all our coaches year after year yet I sit in a basement somewhere posting on a message board...LOL.
