    - Dickau was always a fan of the team and org.
    - Dame was Buchanan's pick.
    - Was his dream to work for the team.
    - Neil was an ass to him on multiple occasions and treated him condescendingly and with lots of profanity.
    - Neil's interview of him was a sham.
    - Dickau took screenshots of their convo as proof.
    - He's no longer a fan of the team because of Neil.

Even more of a reason to trade him. I don't blame Aldridge for walking. I blame the Blazers for getting nothing in return.

Teams don't get a bad rep for making trades... You don't have to keep a player just because he wants to be there.

You make trades if you think it works out better for the team.

That's my recollection regarding the contract as well, but I don't know for sure.

Doesn't make sense that other teams could offer more than we could.

Whoever they get next….won’t be high profile or a successful seasoned executive. I think the perception isn’t great from the outside. The trajectory of the team, in all fairness, is probably perceived from the outside as on the way down. The ownership situation, Lillard situation and age, tough market, it’ll be a first year GM or maybe a retread who just wants another job. Just my guess.

Other teams couldn't offer more, it was just that the rule on extensions at the time was one in which we could inky offer him an extension worth about 18 a year, but he could get over 20 on a regular contract.

This is what was said about the coaching search and we got multiple candidates in for an interview who were perceived as high profile. Chauncey had multiple suitors.

At the end of the day, there are only 30 of these jobs. And ownership (even with all the drama) is relatively stable. And if Neil's recent tenure is any indication, there's very little oversight from higher ups nowadays, as well as a penchant to spend to win.

    We'll get who we want.

I don't see why we couldn't get someone like Dunleavy Jr. We need to grab a potential on the upswing guy and role the dice anyways.

will be interesting for sure...I think the Vulcans/Jody will hire someone with close Seattle ties to co-market along with Root Sports.

I'd really like this to be the end of Olshey as Blazer GM, but he's survived a bunch of actions that would have been the end of lots of GM's. I'm not holding my breath

You absolutely can try to find reasons to fire someone. This is a private organization. They need to see if any of the things he's done has breached his contract.

Also, fuck Neil. People that are not held accountable but bad at their jobs should absolutely be fired.

Now we know why we never hear leaks from Neil's FO, given the way he runs his ship.

was curious, are there any women holding a GM position in the NBA, and are there any solid female candidates?

Because Dunleavy 1) loves the Bay Area 2) works for a great GM and his former agent Myers and 3) doesn’t need the money

Chauncey is a first time coach as well. I didn’t say they won’t get anyone. Just don’t think it’ll be a job people jump at unless it’s a very young/ inexperienced guy or retread and play it safe type.

I don't think he should be fired for just being a mean guy. He should be fired for his poor performance as of late. If he does get fired i would like a candidate who either tanks and builds strongly though the draft or goes for the big dick all or nothing plays no treadmill middle ground.
