Maybe they’re having a bad night but when I look at Florida’s defenseman group I don’t see a lot of talent.

After Ekblad, Weegar and Montour are ok but Gudas sucks. It's kind of like us right now with the dropoff after Fox.

Difference is that Lundkvist and Miller have high upsides. They just haven’t matured yet and Schneider has more upside and they do. Don’t see much in the pipeline defenseman wise for Florida.

Their defense might not be great but their forwards are. There’s nothing wrong with grit and toughness, but there’s no way anyone can seriously think this team is overall better than last year. We gave up speed and skill for the belief of toughness (which I still haven’t really even seen from this team honestly).

Problem right now is that the team is refusing to play young players with more talent and a ton more upside over some scrubs. Hajek, Barron, Gauthier and even a player like Gettinger have a lot more talent and upside than Hunt, Rooney and Nemeth. It’s just stupid to play those vet scrubs.

Lindgren stinks in front of the net. Always lets the forward in front of him and has a bad habit of cross checking the other player onto igor

That goal happens because we didn’t send a message early on that if you run our goalie you get crushed. Instead our “tough” guys are pansy asses. Great signings. Yeppppp

We should have challenged that for goalie interference as Florida player actually sitting on top of Igor. Wake up gallant

Playing on their heels instead of staying assertive.

Hmmm. 2 points. Igor didn't seem to be all that enthused after the final whistle and didn't come out as first star. Can't be pleased with the last 90 seconds of the game.

Rangers better start protecting Igor as the contact Florida players were getting away with all night was ridiculous. And if that jackass gallant doesn’t challenge that first Florida goal with the Florida forward actually kneeling on top of Igor I guess he’ll never challenge one. Wake up gallant! Very selfish of zman on that third goal not taking the player and making sure the puck was out of the zone instead of looking to head up ice to pad his stats with an empty netter.

Other than Buchnevich, who has all of 3 points in 8 games so far, who did we give up with speed and skill? Don't tell me you're lamenting that Blackwell was let go?

Gauthier looks like he's trying to dangle a curling stone on breakaways but he did take the body a few times. Kakko played his best game of the year, still scared but better. Laf flopping for more ice time but no dice from the anti-developer GG. What does GG expect from this mismanaged kid, a SOG? Rather than pummel someone, Reaves drew a penalty and legally punished several Panthers, none of which would fight him. Had them so rattled one of their knuckleheads checked himself out of the game to avoid any more physical play.

Rangers are second to last in shots given up this year only behind Detroit. Pathetic. Yes, they have played a lot of games but it's absurd how this team has ZERO concept on how to cover the high slot for shots. Time and time again they are incompetent. I've seen nothing from Hunt to show me he is anything but totally useless. Rooney has been atrocious this season. He's a walking turnover and penalty machine. You can see Lundkvist starting to show some of his skill now but it's usually negated by the terrible talent and play of Nemeth. What a moronic signing when you had Hajek who was fine last year. As long as those 3 scrubs are in the lineup, the Rangers will continue to look like they are playing shorthanded. It's also time to move on from Chytil. Guy is made of glass. Let somebody else worry about if he can stay healthy. This team needs to get a legit center, 24 to 28 to play with Lafreniere and perhaps Kakko as well or a unique vet talent like Toews. Chytil, Jones, Kravtsov and perhaps Georgiev can all be used in a deal to get that guy. Hajek should have been starting on the big club from day one. Perhaps he has been moved down to Hartford because dumbass Drury realizes already he fucked up with that stupid signing of Nemeth and they are going to get him back up here. However, my guess is the morons are probably showcasing him for a deal.

Lundkvist 9 games is even. Nemeth 13 games is -6. That is very accurate when it comes to the play of both those guys.

LOL at your last line panze. I noticed that too. But they can’t keep letting Igor s get run over. No other team allows that to happen without retribution besides the rangers. And for gods sake lindgren get in front of your man and stop checking them onto your goalie

When I said gave up, I meant passed over in FA and trades. Buch was a nice piece but expendable. Blackwell we don’t miss. But we needed to get faster and get more skill and instead went the opposite direction and got pylons for defensemen. Did we not learn with Staal that you need dmen in today’s game that can skate? Sometimes you gotta really question what this FO watches and sees with teams that are winning and why they don’t even try to do that here.
