Two G league teams, Atlanta and DC, have female GMs. Pacers have female assistant GM.

Apologies in advance if this sounds snarky.

Several folks have raised the idea that this is all about finding a way to fire Olshey without paying him off. I'm sorry, but were people asleep during recent events with the Thorns and women's soccer? Portland fired a guy. Years later he got into trouble for his behavior with another team. Fans threatened protests and boycotts against Portland.

I admit I don't fully understand their logic - I guess Portland was supposed to conduct a public inquisition and trash the guy to the point he would never be able to get a job again. The point is, just firing him wasn't enough.

My guess is that Jody and the Vulcans were spooked by that situation. The goal here isn't to save money. For PR reasons they need a show trial. They need to denounce and discredit Olshey so that any future misconduct won't somehow get blamed on them.

Stotts was lucky. There were no accusations about his behavior, so they could just fire him for job performance.

The part on the Thorns doesn't feel accurate at all. When you say you don't fully understand, it's pretty clear you do not.

He was accused of issues here, and Thorns management did a review, and " didn't renew his contract". But chose not to report anything, and that allowed him to continue on being a predator, instead of making a deal of it. They were supposed to trash a guy so he didn't get hired again. But he did. And his shit behavior was allowed to continue. That's why Wilkinson is on leave. He did nothing. Nobody took action to support the players. Other than just not renewing his contract.

In skimming through this thread there appear to be a handful of people who are implying this was created because the Blazers are looking for a reason to fire Olshey w/out pay. Is there any evidence to support this theory? Even if that is the eventual outcome that he is fired with cause, it doesn't prove that was the motive for the investigation.

Poor Dwight Jaynes is about to lose his only source. Since the accusations he went radio silent (no critique of Olshey) and has came out of his hole to bash all the previous Blazer GMs instead. Now he's going to give up on Twitter all together?

This defense is hilarious. GMs are paid to give their opinion on stuff like this. When that opinion is wrong it absolutely reflects on the GM as part of their performance. Olshey making horrible mistakes doesn't mean other GMs have not also made horrible mistakes.

Ya man , I thought the same after listening just now.

The Dickau pod actually was more him whining than anything really.

Why don't people want to point out that maybe Dickau really did go behind Neil's back? and maybe if so, Neil had a right to upset? A person can't get upset or raise their voice to someone or you're bullying them, you guys are just soft sorry to say in this case with Dickau. We are all saints in here apparently, we have never raised our voice to someone or spoke in anger to someone, and if we did, we were a bully is the line of thinking in here with most.

Dickau hasn't gotten another NBA job since then, maybe he's just wasn't qualified for the job. It's very normal for new GM coming in to want to start clean with their own staff and etc. It happens every single time for the most part when there is a new GM or Coach.

It seems like Neil can be a asshole when he is ready, a little blunt around the edges, but that goes for every single person. Nothing Dickau said should warrant a firing though.

No, I am not defending Neil. But I like to play devil's advocate, especially when you guys are so extreme in your dislike for Neil.

Watch and see how many come at me now that I said that about the Dickau podcast and etc.

Isolated incidents can happen yes. Probably has happened to anyone, but if you raise your voice to a lot of people on consistent basis then yes you are a bully.

I’m assuming Olshey will not survive this, which is great for those of us who have wanted to get rid of him for years.

BUT: I’m concerned about what this means for trades this year. Are they going to have an interim GM? Bring in someone from the outside mid-season, a la Chris Finch hire last year?

In either scenario, can we really expect someone brand new to make a huge swing weeks into their tenure? It seems more likely that they would man the ship for a bit and not rock the boat too much until they get their bearings.

And that’s what would make me sad, because we need a big trade and we need to do it this season. Can’t afford another wasted year of Lillard :(

Olshey hasn't made a move to turn us into a contender for nearly a decade and I suspect this February wasn't going to be the year he was going to foster the relationship to make it happen, so I'm not too worried about it.

haynes said in his recent article that while the interviews should be done soon, the decision could take weeks.

that could change depending on what they find of course.

Does this delivery guy give you, say, a window of time from when the delivery will be made?

He's been trying to act like a competent GM for 10 years now, so I'd say no it won't.
