    How quickly things change.

    http://www.sportstwo.com/posts/5261847/

Stotts would've got blasted for allowing a WIDE open 3 to LaVine at the end, but I'm not sure it was Billups fault.

watching that game tonight; and watching games around the NBA; and watching how the NBA has evolved...

I can see where teams will only be carrying one or two big men.

the Bulls Tony Bradley is 6'10, but he's a rim-runner who only played 21 minutes. They didn't have Vucevic' and that changed who they went with, but still...traditional C's are becoming dinosaurs and the three point line is the comet

I don't know who cares, but it appears you do not. I posted it because there were a lot of people in the thread debating the coaching chops of Billups earlier this week.

I'm glad we both like Billups, I hope that continues!

    about halftime adjustments:

    * this season Portland's net differential is +0.2 points in 3rd Q's. Last season it was +0.7

    * this season Portland's net differential is +0.1 points in 2nd halves. Last season it was +1.1 points

of course, last season Portland was 12 games over .500. This season they are just .500.

You brought it up, I was just responding. Don't bring it up and I won't have anything to respond to.

    Great win!

this place is toxic man. ruining my mood.

if people can't see the improvement and change in this team (at home anyway), they're fucking blind.

we get blown out by 25+ last year in a game when dame and CJ are 1/13 at halftime. but let's continue to be oblivious.

That was not Billups fault. In his press conference, Chauncey said he told Nas exactly what was going to happen. He joked that Nas still somehow found a way to run right into the screen (definitely a moving screen).

Billy Donovan was chewing that gum extra hard at the end of the game as he blew a 20 point lead to a rookie head coach

Thanks for that info, I assumed it wasn't his fault as well. Also agree, it was a moving screen.

Blazers were definitely a different team in the 2nd half. But I didn't notice any schematic adjustments. What I saw was it looked like Billups lit a fire under their collective asses and Nance, RoCo, and Nurkic set the tone

Same thing we dealt with last year, just different targets. Part of the deal unfortunately.

We even saw people bitching while we were in the WCF.

Btw…. Tomorrow’s film will show how Larry left Zach Lavine wide open for 3. Nass was caught on the screen and he did not switch.

    1. we started blitzing P&R more and played a pseudo zone to clog up the lane. larry and Ant both got steals off it. while it wasn't some grand difference, it was enough to make them uncomfortable, and we are all too familiar with how rigid Donovan is in adjusting his game plans. (he's one of the few coaches who Stotts repeatedly outsmarted).

    2. lighting a fire under guys IS what coaching is about. we had a fucking robot on the sidelines the past decade. this is a welcome change.
