. . . FIVE freaking octaves?....Her voice simply blew me away when I first heard this song...and still does; . . .
Well hello, Al !...how the hell are ya?...always thought that ^^^ was a great video, btw. Good to hear from you again...Don't be such a stranger.
. . I was actually at 1 of the 3 consecutive nights of concerts JB played at The Fox Theatre in Atlanta (incredible acoustics) in 1978 when this live album was made (he still had a cast on one of his legs that he had broke a couple weeks before while playing softball). I had already become a HUGE fan of his when I first saw him live at the Tangerine Bowl in Orlando on July 4th 1977 along with The Eagles, Hall and Oates, and Andrew Gold. The Eagles got top billing because Hotel California had just come out and because, well the were "The Eagles", which is why I went to the concert in the first place. But for me at least, Jimmy Buffett absolutely stole the show and forever turned me into a "Parrot Head"...and this is one of my favs...great lyrics. . .
....^^^^ Indeed! I saw Buffet at the 1975 Cal State Long Beach Bluegrass Festival. Leo Kottke opened, followed by Buffet, with Emmylou Harris and the Hot Band as the Closing show. My how time has passed...
This album has more to it than you think. JA influenced my bass playing. Hats off to Jack Cassidy and Spencer Dryden.
