Games like the one we just saw makes me really hope that on Monday the team's new CEO Dewayne Hankins calls a news conference and announces that due to the investigation or maybe just due to philosophical differences, Neil is gone. Right now I just have to hold onto that hope because I've got to believe that whoever Hankins would name as Olshey's temporary or permanent replacement would have some ideas on how to make this roster better. (I do not apologize for the redundancy of this message)

It seems like Neil may hold onto his job due to cause, but then will likely be let go for being an asshat and poor roster construction. The Blazers will have to pay out the rest of his contract almost guaranteeing the Blazers make moves to get under the cap this year so they receive tax revenue from other teams rather than having to pay it. That will help offset the cost of Neil for 'poor' Jody.

I dont see that as being a negative. Trade CJ for the right 2 or 3 smaller contracts - (getting under the cap) - and I think you have a better TEAM

I need CJ traded now. Last night was unforgivable. Not just on the last play, but the whole game. He looked like a child with smoker's lung trying to keep up with Gods on the court. The defense was perhaps the worst I had ever seen.

Olshey should just face the inevitable and resign. I think he would be a natural for a job with Nordic Track in their treadmill division.

Or make a trade at the deadline to save his life and make us a contender.

Oh, I don't think the deadline is in play as far as his job is concerned. Either this ownership group will fire him very soon or he is practically bullet proof and can continue to sell them on giving things time.

this is STILL not done yet?

leave it to our ownership to bungle yet another obvious decision.

I think it's done but they aren't going to say anything until the CEO situation is settled which is tomorrow. We might just get a press release over the weekend that the investigation didn't show anything actionable. Hopefully we'll get a press conference from Hankins on Monday.

No other player who is so on/off each night has the same amount of leash as does one CJ McCollum. He truly is a 6th man being paraded out like a fake all star.

Olshey is definitely guilty of “workplace misconduct”; misconduct in constructing this (and other) roster(s).

apparently, he think the Blazers are waiting for the formality of the announcement of new president to fire Olshey

I'd think, if the Blazers were going to fire the GM, they'd just fire his ass so the first act of a new president wasn't to fire the GM. On the other hand, I think the firing of Olshey would be so popular with Blazer fans the new Prez would get a big PR boost

McGowan gave his two weeks notice two weeks ago. The article specifically says that McGowan's resignation is effective on Nov. 26. So I'd assume that Hankins first day really being in charge is tomorrow or was today and I don't see them making any announcements on the holiday weekend.
