What do you think the likelihood is of big moves being made before a permanent replacement is hired? Does Cronin have the authority to make a huge move?
They must have gotten some interviews with candidates already though. Is Cronin going to be empowered to make moves? Because the season is not going well and there are a number of players who's future is not certain. They can't just continue on the current path and expect things to be okay.
meh that's not true. Finished in the top 5 four times and had 50+ wins three times. It's not a contender and it's not entirely his contribution, but it coulda been worse. My biggest problem with Neil was his lack of creativity and conservative nature of his dealings. Dude NEVER took risks. I figured that was a directive from ownership, but it was also a way for him to just skate by without getting fired.
Two 3rd seeds, although sweep one of those. But they made the WCF the other. Its a respectable 8 year run, not bad, but not great. Never a contender and now seemingly no path to get there. I'm all for having a new GM. Problem is I have very little faith in Jody/Bert bringing on a good one. I guess we hope they get lucky and accidently have an excellent hire.
Fischer said that the end of Dame's prime will be entrusted in the replacement's hands and ownership is fully aware of it. common sense would dictate that they've done some due diligence already but you never know with Allen/Kolde. they seem to bungle obvious decisions and make a mess of things. We need a strong/transparent leader. She's never going to do it with the upcoming TV deal, but I hope to God she would put the team up for sale.
LOL. I literally spoke to Fischer about Barry two weeks ago and dude was super coy about it. Now he drops this nugget.
