FINALLY...Neil "It's not the roster" is gone and his valet may be getting him out of town as we speak. Joe Cronin has been named the interim GM for the time being. The last time we had an interim, Chad Buchanon turned Gerald Wallace into Damian Lillard.

Names that have come up already:

    Marc Eversley (Chicago Bulls): https://www.bleachernation.com/bull...eration-for-blazers-top-front-office-vacancy/

Scotty Perry (New York Knicks): https://www.basketball-reference.com/executives/perrysc99x.html

Brent Barry (San Antonio Spurs): https://www.nba.com/spurs/brent-barry

    Tayshaun Prince (Memphis Grizzlies): https://www.nba.com/news/memphis-grizzlies-tayshaun-prince-official-release

Joe Cronin (Interim GM, Blazers) https://www.blazersedge.com/2014/7/...te-joe-cronin-to-director-of-player-personnel

There are other names likely to surface as well. Do you have a preference.....and why?

We need a fresh start. Ainge got stupid at the end of his tenure in Boston. Bring someone new and inovative in. Now if Cronin hits a homerun this year with additions, and subtraction to the roster, he could turn interim into fulltime.

Based on what they did this last off season I would go with Eversley

Problem is those guys don't have any incentive to leave a huge market like Chicago or New York to move to Portland and start over. Barry and Prince are in small markets now

For many years the Spurs have been the model small-market franchise. We went to the opposite end of the spectrum with Olshey,

After the Season go get Steve Kerr....he's probably tired of coaching and he's probably going to be a GM somewhere, again.

I left Ainge out because he has been talked about so much and if he resigned for health reasons, not sure that is who I want taking over a mid-season rebuild.

There are only two old guys I'd want as GM...Popovich and Jerry West....other than that I'm thinking Prince or Barry is the guy....Pop loves Oregon and owns a winery here. He also loves Dame. He might be ready for a desk job

    Barry or Eversley

But, will SAS or CHI really just let us come in and take either of them?

Maybe that's what he was talking to Chauncey after the game last night about. He seemed to be having a pretty good conversation with Billups.

    Something along the lines of

"This roster is shit, but don't worry I'll be GM here next year and clean this shit up."

i just want to make sure they do their due diligence and have a vision for what they actually want with this hire. I don't know enough of about any of these guys to vote, tbh. Maybe Barry because I've been going on about him since this summer about our replacement GM after reading that he interviewed here, but all these others are foreign to me.

I just want to be sure the ownership group doesn't half-ass the process in hopes of getting it done quickly. I have 0 confidence in them to do the right thing, so color me skeptical about any of their decisions.

    My #1 is Bobby Webster.

Among the names already connected I like Prince but would be ok with any of the others.

I think Ainge is the only one I’d be bummed about.
