    Riiight.
Fact that you let those underprivileged kids use your pool when you lived in east Portland makes you a Portlander in my book for life.

Yes those costs are accounted for.

Getting them in homes makes treating them far cheaper and more effective.

Improving access to education is not all that difficult (not as difficult as it is made out to be). Just pay for it.

Improving access to healthcare is not all that difficult. Again, just pay for it.

We're already paying for the rehab and counseling. We just have to pay for it less frequently and fewer times for housed individuals (and maintaining public spaces is incredibly expensive). That's where a huge portion of the savings come from.

So, for example, if a housed person only needed the $6000 program once rather than paying for an unhoused person to complete the $60k inpatient program 3 times it would pay for rent for at least 9 years. Or pay rent for at least 9 people for at a year.

There are huge savings to be had. Even if it's only the $6k program once instead of a few times.

I like Jack. He's solid. But he's not "dope". Tupac and Biggie are/were "dope".

I reiterate, you're whiter than me, braddah. And you calling Jack "dope" further elevates that difference.

    ironically, I’m white.

my wife is Spanish (hello, Christopher Columbus - yes, he’s Italian, but he worked for the Spaniards). She’s also Italian. She’s also Japanese (hello, kamikaze).

So, end of day, my Japanese-looking wife gets a clean pass while my German/Welsh-ass gets hated. Can’t tell me that ain’t ironic.

I remember I heard his first record and really liked the island tempo of his songs...it was chill, back porch acoustic mellow music.....I then bought two more of his CDs and they were essentially the exact same as his first record.....I only needed one of those.

Correct. It's what countries who have solved these problems do.

I've seen him twice at the waikiki shell, once at the gorge, once at Coachella and once at the Hollywood bowl. Always a good show, especially when he gets his friends up for a jam session.

They have become that "remember when" person that forgets the bad things that went on and cling for the past. Change is a constant. Most of the time, we are evolving.

Hoping we get back to somewhat normal soon though. Parked near Moda for the game and had planned on finding a place to eat on our walk back to the car. Did not see anything remotely interesting and decided to just hit the food court at Pioneer Place. Only two places open. Saw more tents on the walk from Pioneer Place to Moda obviously as well as people smoking meth near Skidmore fountain and a crazy lady yelling at us from a distance. Did not have one homeless person approach us for money though. That used to be a given whenever walking in that area.
