I mostly agree with this sentiment.
My exception is this: Say you got $100,000 house and someone offers you $10,000,000 for it. It would be, in my opinion, smart to be like “ok, deal.”

Now if you have that same house and someone offers you $150,000 or $200,000… probably going to say no. Memories. Difficult of moving. Having to find another house. Etc.

It’s got to be a clear cut Pritchslap to the 10th power.

Realistically no one is going to go for it though.

Yeah, in the post you're responding to I say that Dame isn't bigger than the team and talk about first exhausting all of our resources to put the best roster around him possible (fit and talent). If you think we've already exhausted all possibilities to win one with Dame then you should want to move on. I just don't think we've come close to trying to build a team around Dame that makes sense. I also look at the Rockets and Thunder and think that they didn't get anything close to equal value even in futures for the superstars they traded.

Agreed, he isn't bigger than the team so if someone blew us away with an offer that would be stupid to refuse then we would have to say goodbye to Dame but like you said that's not at all likely to be happening.

This sounds like @AldoTrapani so Dame suffers his first major injury and he's over the hill. If you didn't see the games in which the cortisone shot numbed the injury, you should go back and watch them because Dame was as dominant offensively as anyone in the league in those games. Oh and Dame is a PG, look at his assist numbers... he does score a lot but he facilitates the offense for other players at a very elite level. I have no idea where you get him being an SG and he's actually only 6'2". If you think it's too late to win with Dame, I disagree with you but that's fine but so much that you said about why it's a good idea to trade him now doesn't make sense. Also look at what OKC and Houston have instead of the superstars that they traded away... that's not what I want.

    Ant Dame.

Powell and Little I think are worth more to us than other teams so keep them.

Trade everyone else for whatever you can get.

I think Powell will have great value with a lot of teams around the league if he's someone we want to cash in on. It just depends on if you see him as the best back court mate for Dame. I don't feel that way anymore. I think he is actually a better scorer than he is a defender and he is a solid defender but Dame really needs an elite defender next to him but maybe they could settle into something much better than what we've seen in spot minutes if they were consistently starting at the 1 and 2 for a while. I wouldn't give Powell away by any means but I would take a better fit if there is one or if he's part of a deal that lands us a legit star.

Chris Paul is a PG, Dame is a SG. Assists in the NBA are bit of a joke.

Dame can score and may be able to score for years to come, but that doesn't make him a guy you build a championship around. NBA isn't built for 6'3: SG's to carry a team. Not hating on him, just what it is. Put him on Bucks and things change, but Blazers aren't getting the Greek Freak to play with him here or anyone close to him. They just don't have the assets and there aren't many like him to start with. Sorry if I hurt your feelings, but I don't see any way Dame in his 30's leads a team to a ring. He can contribute for a ring, but not leads.

As far as breaking down, he has played a lot of minutes and takes a lot of contact. I have played enough basketball in my day to know that once injuries start they usually don't slow down. Hope I am wrong, but I would rather another team take that chance.

Alright... I thought a guy who is constantly in the top 10 in assists per game could also pass. I also didn't know that being able to score the ball precluded you from being a point guard or CP3 had exclusivity on the title. I also think that the fact that Dame sets up the offense on the vast majority of plays that he's in would also make him more of a point than an off guard. I mean seriously give me a break, Dame is a point guard and I don't think that is even disputed outside of this strange exchange.
