Time for the Lakers to face the facts. They are an old team, with a second option (Unidufus) that's made of glass. And a third(Westbrook) that is aloof half the time. The Blazers won't be bailing out the Smogtown Blues anytime soon. Tick, tick, tick.
I wish LeBron would demand trade to Portland. Would anyone here do a Dame for LeBron deal? Simons/Powell/Nas/Simmons/LeBron
Yes the Lakers are a mess. No they will not win a Championship this year. No i would not trade Dame for Westbrook and any filler. One thing is for certain though. They are the Lakers. They will reboot and have a team again. Very soon. Now as far as my Blazers are concerned? We might be in for a very long haul trying to figure out a way to win consistently. Portland just doesn't have the same draw as LA.
Of course the two franchises are on the opposite ends of the NBA spectrum for attracting FA talent. Portland has to draft and trade for it's talent, LA can just clear the decks and reload. But in the meantime, the schadenfreude is delicious. I couldn't believe the mismatched team they were assembling this past offseason. Hopefully they've a stubborn GM like Neil & choose to run it back next year to prove everyone wrong! STOMP
Dennis Schroder: 16 points - 3 rebounds - 5 assists Kyle Kuzma: 16 points - 9 rebounds - 3 assists KCP: 12 points - 4 rebounds - 2 assists Andre Drummond: 6 points - 9 rebounds - 2 assists Montrazel Harrell: 15 points - 7 rebounds - 2 assists Alex Caruso: 8 points - 4 rebounds - 4 assists Markieff Morris: 8 points - 3 rebounds - 1 assists Wesley Matthews: 7 points - 2 rebounds - 1 assist LA dumped 8 guys from last season's squad that are averaging 88 points, 41 rebounds, and 20 assists this season. They are averaging those numbers on decent to good efficiency. And several of them were key in the Lakers posting the best defense in the NBA Lakers gave all that up for Westbrook, Melo, Avery Bradley, and Kent Bazemore. It was GM malpractice
I REFUSE to believe Lebron didn't approve and want the trade for Westbrook. He will throw the managment under the bus if pressed I bet, though I think some of the blame lies on him. His playing is GOAT but wanting Russ is a headscratcher for sure.
Is anyone still on the l*akers team after Lebron got there? Seems like he got rid of them all just to get his buddies some rings
At least when the Blazers lose, they lose with a bunch of scrubs but Lakers with Lebron is embarrassing
Los Angeles Lakers star Russell Westbrook benched late in loss; coach Frank Vogel had green light, sources say "The coaching staff had been debating whether to pull Westbrook from late-game situations for weeks, sources said, but always refrained because of worries about the lasting impact on Westbrook's psyche. Indeed, even LeBron James danced around the subject of Westbrook's benching, perhaps not wanting to draw further attention to the indignity for the one-time league MVP. "Would you think that would bother Russ not being in a late game?" he said, answering a reporter's question with a question, rather than giving a straight answer. James was left to speak on Westbrook because the 14-year veteran -- who exited the court with 8.4 seconds remaining on the clock -- departed from the arena without speaking to reporters. Westbrook also had already vacated the locker room by the time his teammates were finished showering, sources said, forgoing any postgame discussion with the team."
