You have to have a good introduction to keep the reader interested.

But now we are at home and presumably would have had enough pride to not allow that to happen again. Tonight we will have a problem just getting enough guys on court to play!

While this is a really crappy return, I can't get too mad because (a) Norm was a mistake (looking worse at the moment because Trent is on a tear) and (b) RoCo wasn't going to stay. But Bledsoe is one of the league's worst contracts, so that part hurts. [Edit: OK, it's not bad at all - I didn't see that less than $4M is guaranteed for next season. So actually this trades' not that bad.]

But on the upside: Brown and Johnson will have some EPIC dunk-offs after practice.

Clippers acquire Norman Powell, Robert Covington in trade with Trail Blazers (yahoo.com)
"The Trail Blazers’ motivation appeared to be financial, as the deal moved them underneath the luxury tax. Backed by the wealth and title-hungry ambitions of owner Steve Ballmer, however, the Clippers were willing to add nearly $20 million to their tax bill, bringing it currently to around $112 million, in order to add the flexibility for more moves ahead of the Feb. 10 trade deadline along while making Powell, the deal’s centerpiece."

how is Bledsoe one of the worst contracts, he’s only guaranteed like 4M next season. Even if he wasn’t it’d just be a large expiring.

You can't make a deal this bad a week before the deadline. This is obvious collusion and they aren't even attempting to make it look reasonable.

Buckle Up forum friends there is a block buster coming up that will bring us a legit down low scoring & maga defender 4/5.

    C- Nurk will be reigned.
    PG - Dame

yeah my guess is they’re setting up a move for a four. Probably why they made this trade today instead of next week. But maybe it doesn’t happen until the offseason. Who knows? I’ll save the crying for after the deadline at the earliest. At the very least, it looks like a shakeup is coming.

I'm really low on Norm and Roco as championship pieces, although Roco is better fit in LA with (hopefully) a healthy PG and Kawhi to defend top options. But even Roco's team defense took a major step back this year.

Maybe Keon Johnson will average double digits by then... but wait, we'd need more cost savings to pay him; let's dump more players in anticipation.

Also, wouldn’t be surprised if Bledsoe got traded again before the deadline. That contract is attractive for anyone trying to get off some money. His figure is larger than Powell’s. Cronin is a cap guy, I’m confident his moves will come in waves instead of singular trades like Olshey made.

    Agreed.

it was just tossing a flipped coin out there.

the reality is i read many people on here just railing on Cronin hard.
He is still interim Gm and said ownership must sign off on deals.
To me this screams as an ownership push and he had directive to make this happen.
We have no clue if he was forced into Jodi’s puppet or not on this.

Im firmly in the wait and see camp still.
I think this team will be MUCH different starting next season.
