Paying too much in previous trades don't necessarily mean that *these* trades were bad. It means the previous ones were. We clearly overpaid for both Nance and RoCo, and honestly probably Powell too. I don't blame the current GM for trying to clear the deck on trades that haven't really worked out.

You're not wrong about striking out in FA though, and if we do strike out in FA, then that definitely deserves scrutiny. The success of these trades depends largely on what, if anything, the Blazers do in FA. If they miss on their targets, or if they don't identify the right players to try to bring in, then these trades are largely detrimental and should be seen as such.

I don’t know how to add tweets here lol

“My understanding is this deal is not yet done. There is a possibility a third team could get looped in prior to Thursday's trade deadline. Either way, McCollum is New Orleans-bound”

    This x 10e6.
Portland traded, essentially 4 starters and got a single FRP in return. If you put that into the context of 2 FRP for Roco and the Trent debacle etc., it boggles the mind. Best not to go there. But we are talking about sheep fur, people, as in fleeced.

My statement was in response to the many posts that Jody Allen is making moves in order to sell or move the team.

It just doesn't make sense, so she's destroying the value of the team so she can sell it for less money? That's what you're implying.

No, just the opposite. We won't see it if it Isn't in the 5-14 range.

No matter how it shapes up for us, New Orleans has a really good starting 5 if Zion could stay on the floor.

    PG - Graham
    SG - McCollum
    SF - Ingram
    PF - Williamson
    C - Valanciunas

No Pelican fans are complaining right now, just like no Clippers fans were complaining on Friday... that is a clear indicator of what happened and it's not good for us.

Rest Dame the whole season, pray for Pels to lose and if everything falls in place. We could get 2 lottery picks.

Why wouldn't Hart be starting with Dame in the backcourt? That makes more sense to me.

Everyone is acting like these trades are so terrible…
They HAD to be done. You think Cronin really just took worse deals? i would bet the offers in the table were not what we all think they were. Neil wouldn’t tear it down because he knew this would be the return and he would get fired. Cronin is doing what is necessary to move forward

Exactly. Right now, Zion can't stay on the floor and until that happens, this is a lottery team still. Which is fine for our purposes this year.
