The last big rebuild was 10 years ago (funny) Joe Cronin: Full trade, per sources: Blazers: Josh Hart, Tomas Satoransky, Nickeil Walker-Alexander, Didi Louzada, 2022 protected first-round pick, two second-round picks. Pelicans: CJ McCollum, Larry Nance, Tony Snell. Traded Robert Covington and Norman Powell to the Los Angeles Clippers for Eric Bledsoe, Keon Johnson, Justise Winslow and a 2025 2nd round draft pick ( was later selected). Portland also received a trade exception 2025 2nd-rd pick is DET own Chad Buchanan: March 15, 2012 Traded Marcus Camby to the Houston Rockets for Jonny Flynn, Hasheem Thabeet and a 2012 2nd round draft pick (Will Barton was later selected). Traded Gerald Wallace to the New Jersey Nets for Mehmet Okur, Shawne Williams and a 2012 1st round draft pick (Damian Lillard was later selected). Waived Chris Johnson. Waived Greg Oden.
CJ trade was fine. Not good, but not horrible. Roco Norm trade is indefensible. The Gerald trade that got Dame pick was an unusual fleecing of a desperate team. Can't expect sell low Joe to have the same rare opportunity. But giving away Roco and Norm so early before the deadline removed the chance of having any good opportunity present itself, so he can certainly be faulted for that. A big wildcard, is how much of this is Jody/Vulcan's fault and not Joe?
Greg Oden was waived? Man don’t remember that, but maybe I forced myself to forget the details of that whole ordeal.
