Yeah, Meyers Leonard is a veteran and he is available. I'm sure he'll help us win.

If the Blazers have a chance to draft Jaden Ivey at #3 (assuming we move up) or at #6, would you keep or trade Dame? This kid (Ivey) seriously looks like the next Ja Morant.

I bet the Blazers will trade the #6 and #11 for the #17.

    6+11=17

The Blazers would have to trade Lillard to make that crazy deal happen, lol.

(Damn I'm jaded, soooo many disappointments by the front office these last 10 years.)

At #6 I'd see if Holmgren, or Banchero by some miracle were still available. If not I'd have to consider Keegan Murray although he's really SF size not PF size at the #6 pick spot.

At #11 based on who I think might be available I'd be ecstatic to get Duren, but would settle for Williams and even consider guys like Jovic and perhaps even Sharpe if he was there just due to upside.

I of course want to see us in the top 3 and luck into Jabari Smith, but if we pick at 6 and 11 my preference would be the above.

The ideal draft would be Jabari Smith with our pick and Jalen Duren with the Pel's pick. Get two front-court players on cheap contracts as those are usually the most expensive non-max guys to get, big men. They are also positions of need for us. I'm totally fine with trading Nurk if we had Smith and Duren coming in. I sure as heck don't want to overpay for Nurk, he's just not reliable enough either in production or health.

Is there someone specific you are referring to, or is that just your prototypical size/athleticism you are looking for?

Ugh man trigger warning. Can you imagine if you could put Dame's brain into Outlaw's body (you know with Outlaw say at 27 years old). That guy had all the athletic talent in the WORLD, but he used to drive me nuts like almost no other. I guess out of bounds Jarret Jack was even worse but DAMN.

Combined 1 in 3 chance of getting into top 4 that seems pretty decent. 1/10 (close to it) of getting the #1 overall, not bad at all! We really only need a top 2 pick to come close to ensuring we get Smith and there is a close to 20% chance of that. Again, not bad at all.

Greg Brown gives me the same vibes, but he's still only 20.

I don't think the Blazers would pick Jaden Ivey at #3 , but if they did, Ivey is a shooting guard right now, so he doesn't duplicate what Lillard does. They could keep all the guards for now and see how Ivey develops. If it looks like he's going to be a star, they could trade Lillard or Simons.

It's what masai has been stocking up on in Toronto. Wish we ever tried that route over ...whatever the hell it is Neil was trying. Signing guys who were top HS prospects.

    1. IMHO best case: Portland selects Jabari Smith at #1 and Nikola Jovic with the Pelican pick. [If Sharpe is at the Pelican pick, I'd understand taking the leap.]
    2. Holmgren on the Blazers? Yes. In a word.
    3. Centers in the lottery? No. Or almost no.
    4. If Smith is gone and Ivey is BPA? Tough call. If Ivey is alone in a different Tier, okay. If not, need comes into it ... Forwards.
