    projected top 6 picks:
    • jabari smith jr
    • paolo banchero
    • chet holmgren
    • jaden ivey
    • keegan murray
    • shaedon sharpe
if the trail blazers get top 6 pick, what should we do with it:

    - draft one of these guys & keep dame unless he demands a trade
    - draft one of these guys & trade dame and the rest (keep young guys)
    - trade pick for an upgrade

personally, im not familiar with these guys, how good they are and how good they can become, but i do know that holmgren and banchero are hyped, so if we can nab top 6 pick, id keep it and roll with dame & rest, but if we cant, trading the pick for an upgrade wouldnt be a bad idea... what say you guys

I think it speaks to more to mass idiocy and your own complicity than it does to Meyers. Feeble minds need words to be censored.

One viable way would be to couple the pick with Ant and target a legit star level front court player that would immediately compliment Dame, Hart & Nurk.

Having got all excited about getting two picks, I now wonder if it's worth trading down.

Atlanta has 13 and 14 - might get us Sochan with one of them, or at least Eason, and maybe Agbaji, or maybe take a flyer on Ousmane Dieng or Dyson Daniels
San Antonio has 9 and 25 - they'd only trade up if they had their eyes on someone in a very narrow range, but that would be more likely to get us Sochan, and maybe take a center like Kessler or Koloko, or gamble on Jovic at 25

Look at the bright side, we shed the cap hold for the Pelicans’ pick. ;(

Looks like Meyers actually had looks from teams but couldn’t play because of complications from an ankle surgery. Should be back in the nba next season. That dumb comment shouldn’t have ended his career anyway. And he showed more genuine remorse than most in similar situations.

This is the most likely player to be taken if the Tankathon odds are combined with the 2022 Draft Room Mock.

#7 - Jalen Duren - maybe the youngest player in the Draft. Athletic freak. (Comp - Dwight Howard)
#8 - AJ Griffin - Lights out shooter. More versatile than play at Duke showed. (Jimmy Butler)
#4 Jaden Ivey - Explosive SG with decent handles. (Morant/D-Wade light)
#3 Chet Holmgren - 'unicorn' with unique skills for his height. (no real appropriate comp)
#2 Paolo Banchero - likely the safest pick, can contribute right away. (Chris Webber)
#1 Jabari Smith - elite shooter/stretch '4', needs more handle. (Jaren Jackson/ Rashard Lewis +)
#9 Johnny Davis - solid mid-range scorer without elite athleticism. (Ginoble/McCollum)
#10 Jeremy Sochan - multi-positional defender. Needs offensive work. (???)

After what Cronin and the Pelicans did for the Blazers, it seems so Portland that we end up in the Davis/Sochan slot.

Chet or Jabari in a Blazer uni would quell this disaster

I wonder if we could send one for Grant and grab Agbaji with the other. We would be backcourt heavy if we did, but I think we’d be a dark horse contender. We could probably also sign Bamba with the MLE.

    Lillard
    Simons/Hart/Agbaji/Johnson
    Little/Ingles
    Grant/Winslow/Watford
    Nurkic/Bamba/Eubanks

Whoever they draft may be a backup for their first season, but that doesn't mean the pick was a bust or wasted. Many all time greats spent their first season coming off the bench.

If Cronin was planning to use the protected pick in a trade it wouldn’t have been a blazer draft pick anyway. That pick is now a 1st in 25 and will likely still be in play for the same deal if successful.

What are the protections on the 2025 Bucks pick?

I just don't see it. I think that roster is more likely to lose in the 1st round than be contender.

According to the linked article below, the 2025 Bucks pick is top 4 protected. If it falls within the top 4, no soup for Portland.

    https://www.blazersedge.com/2022/4/...ans-pelicans-portland-trail-blazers-nba-draft

I've stated this before a couple times, but losing out on the Pels 2022 pick was what I hoped for as I think the Bucks are very likely to be headed down by 2025. Jrue and Middleton will be 34 & 33 respectively which is past prime time in a player's career. With this reality, I think it's likely Giannis will have forced his way out to greener pastures. Of course here's hoping it doesn't fall in the top 4

Ok, think of it this way. We lose the Pels pick, but we discovered a guy, that could be a first round pick this year, that wasnt drafted at all and just signed him. Trendon Watford.
Plus Ant has emerged as a valuable asset where just a couple years ago many questioned just how good he is or could be.
We have assets to re-tool for Dame. May take a couple years but hey, Dame's been born again and easily has 6-8 years left.

that pick may well turn out higher than expected, but the issue is the Blazers window is even tighter than Milwaukees. We need that to be a good asset now and not in 3 years…
