Maybe as a coping mechanism with losing the pick focusing on potential schadenfreude would be helpful :dunno:.

Any teams you're monitoring for playoff flameouts that we could benefit from if they're blown up? I think some teams would be interested in Ant, some would be interested in a top-6 pick from us, and others cap relief, all of which we could offer for the right player. Most of the guys I've identified below are aging/win-now guys that would fit with Dame, but if we traded Ant we'd want to get someone young. Jaylen Brown is the only one on this list I'd even think of trading Ant for.

Off the top of my head, I'm monitoring the following:

Chicago: Derozan - paid well, bad D, but has never played with the level of shooters he would play with here (Dame/Ant). It would be difficult to play all 3 together and you'd need to surround the team with defenders and use a switch-heavy scheme but scoring would never be a problem and he's shown to be a much more willing passer than his prior reputation. I think he would fit Chauncey's drive n kick equal opportunity offense pretty well.

Golden State: Draymond - the only way I see this happening is if Golden State flames out and they decide to pursue Gobert, routing Draymond here but who the hell knows what we would send to Utah.

Milwaukee: Jrue Holiday - they just extended him and he helped win them a ring. However, he's older and has battled health issues throughout his career. High risk, but potentially high-reward. We would probably need to send out Bledsoe and Hart and go with a 3-guard rotation but add some depth for the likely injuries/rest.

Boston: Jaylen Brown - I think we'd need to send a sign n trade Ant + our pick. That would hurt but improve the team on paper.

All the players above are known to be close with Dame.

    The rest:

Toronto: Siakam - jack of all trades, does everything, would fit like a glove, and Toronto has a lot of duplication at the 3/4 right now. However, he's close with the GM, relatively young, and Toronto seems to want to have 3 3/4s on the court all the time anyway. Count this as very unlikely.

Atlanta: John Collins - lots of friction in the past with management. He'd be electric here, but I'm not sure what Atlanta would want from us (maybe the cap relief would be appealing?). Lacking on D but would be a monster in the pick n roll.

Miami: Jimmy Butler - huge contract, doesn't play well with others, bad shooter. However, he's the most competitive guy in the NBA, probably would respect Dame and Chauncey as much as anybody, and lots of smoke that the situation in Miami may have run its course.

The obvious is Utah. They're trading Gobert this offseason, for sure.

I think Chicago will be in the market for one last piece before DeRozan gets too old. How many first round picks would they have to include to get Dame for a Lonzo and Patrick Williams package?

I think Collins fills a huge need and that is offensive firepower from the 4 spot. We can still offer them 2 first-rounders and cap space.

Toronto will be interesting to watch as they do seem to have some duplication at that position.

I don't see Brown going anywhere. Boston would be crazy to move him. He would be way too expensive IMO.

That team is going to get really expensive with luxury tax. They may want to go in a different direction given their disappointing last half of the season. I think it's possible they're willing to deal Derozan for cap relief and picks.
