Still a draft, so it won't become official for a couple months. We'll see if any of the justices opinions change by then, but I doubt it.
ABM and Maris are no doubt capering with glee thinking of the pain and distress this will bring millions of women. The suicides! The rapes! The forced abusive marriages! The girls and women quitting school, leaving jobs! The butchered broken bodies from self induced and back alley abortions! The women in prison! The neglected, abused and abandoned children, for which women will be blamed! Proving women are not only too stupid to make our own health decisions, we must be subject to men's firm control in all of our lives. And they are already talking about outlawing abortion in the entire country. And outlawing birth control. Overturning marriage equality. What joy! Oh, and allowing states to ban interracial marriage, sorry Justice Uncle Thomas. Can hardly wait, can you? Oh yes. Go fuck yourselves, every man who thinks five people have the right to take away the lives of 150 million American women.
So I guess it's time to make the abortion pill ubiquitous and available to order anywhere online... I'm sorry, but fuck these 5 assholes.
They are banning that as well. Those men are absolutely determined. Women are incubators with no rights.
They banned alcohol and weed as well. Authoritarian BS doesn't fly for long. This ruling will not last.
This might kill the republican's chances of taking over the house and senate in the upcoming elections. If the democrats play their cards right this could be the tipping point... I know, like they have any sense to do it right...
The frustrating part for me is that it just feels like Dems waited for this. So rather than moving ahead with a legitimate progressive agenda (which would be less personally profitable for them) they now have another profitable wedge issue to "fight" for a right women have had for half a century... Had they codified it into law under Obama they would have lost this incredibly profitable wedge issue.
I doubt it, but you never know. Do you think they'll actually codify women's right to choose in that case?
I think it is time for a Stacy Abrahams style campaign on things that matter. If the Democrats (well, Stacy Abrahams) were able to mobilize the masses on the basics of human governance in the south, maybe there is a place to do it on basic human rights and separation of state and church nationwide.
Dems are great at waiting to have shit happen to them, play the victim about it (rightfully so in some cases) and then do jack shit about it, so they can complain about it in the next election cycle to raise capital.
