It was quite the night. Wheels was in rare form and Rice was hilarious! The most pumped I'd been since the Blazers won the title, and I was so young, I barely remember parts of that.
So i did this 10 times and i reset the starting positions every time first. I was amazed that Portland fell in the #1 spot 2 times and in the top 4 6 times. Once at 9, once at 8, once at 7, once at 6.
You think that the most logical outcome is that two teams move up that have worse odds than the Blazers do?
Statistics can be counterintuitive though. The Blazers have greater odds of falling back in the draft to the 7-10 slots (54.1%) than they do of moving up to the 1-4 picks (37.2%). They have an 8.6% chance of staying at the 6th spot. https://www.tankathon.com/pick_odds
If we use these picks in trades for established NBA talent, we'll be in better shape than your Lakers.
I wonder if thats what the Raptors said last summer before ending up as a 5 seed that won 48 games. Dame/Ant/Hart/Nurk with a potentially high impact pick is a playoff team if healthy.
