Didn't you do mass shooting drills in your kindergarten classes last week? They were at my GD's school last week.
A picture is worth a thousand words....without them people could erase historic atrocities and shrug them off as fake news....burn the photos of lynchings and KKK rallies or cops beating civil rights protestors....if you want all this weaponry you have to deal with the after effects of what they can do in real time. If you can watch Hannibal Lechter eat Ray Liottas brain on film...you can handle a shot of a mass killing......the photos of the concentration camps in Germany and Poland were proof that it wasn't "fakefuckingnews"....if we're not careful the assholes will take an eraser to all their bad behavior throughout history and then say "prove it" when called out for genocide. Sort of like glossing over the Native American trail of tears.
No. We don't do those in headstart. We do lockdown and lockout drills. Is that what you mean? Pretty damned sad, schools have to do thought at all.
Holding their executioners accountable is a good start I'd say in the respecting the dead world....JFK was photographed
Sometimes the way you respect the dead is by showing the atrocities that were done to them. Would we be respecting those killed in concentration camps if we didn't show the horrors done to them or if we didn't show the pictures at all?
it wasn't a shot of that guys brains being splattered around. You can show the story without showing her brains being sprayed out. Remember the Boston Bombing? We knew it was horrific, but didn't need people to start posting pictures of peoples legs being blown off, or bones sticking out of what was left of their legs. I don't think we're saying don't post links to the pictures, but for gods sake, when you're scrolling down a thread and all the sudden you come to a picture of a womans brains being blown out..I'm just saying, use some decorum.
If the Boston Bombing happens multiple times a year across the country and nothing is done about it then pictures would need to be shown, IMO.
...I can't speak for everyone, but I'd prefer not be lumped into whatever this is. I simply think it more than appropriate to put an optional hidden spoiler graphic content warning type image here, especially with a photo of this nature. In no way am I trying to "erase" this type of content or condone what happened today, so please dont get it twisted. Carry on.
I posted a tweet and a picture and then left since my daughter's water line broke and I had to meet the plumber at her house. You and others posted about the pictures. I replied to the posts that were made when I got home. The "lumping" is my explanation of my own opinions but I didn't undo what a different mod did. It was easier to reply to the multiple posts who didn't like how I posted what I did instead of giving each person a personalized individual reply. I gave my opinion and still respected the opinions and requests of others. If you think I'm lumping or twisting then I apologize for that and in the future will try to remember that you would prefer a personalized reply.
Fair enough. I totally respect and even agree in some sense with your take. I do. Just trying to have some respect.
