Good lord. A kid with autism at that hellhole? Many young people and adults enjoy camping, especially city dwellers. Rusticity is part of the appeal, sleeping in a tent, cooking outdoors over fire. But clean drinking water, sanitary facilities are part of every reputable campsite. And people who are sick or seriously injured should not be camping.
It would be interesting to see if those reviews were correct, how someone who is on the spectrum would react to such conditions.
If what Sly dug up is remotely accurate, you should report his dad to child protective services. Edit: Alex's dad, not Sly's dad. barfo
Definitely, a mixed bag of reviews. https://www.google.com/search?q=red...8#lrd=0x80b58b6cee1fe47f:0x295cac1511ec27e7,1,,, As mentioned, I'm just the messenger here. I mentioned the name of the camp as a courtesy to Sly, as he had asked. If you want to scrutinize the camp - and me - go right ahead. Again, though, I'm just the messenger. Talk amongst yourselves.
Hey now. If A2M wants to sit back and let something that is abusive to a family member happen, it is his family, not ours. God's will or whatever.
Usually a messenger has a message ...in this case it's just someone highlighting their own confusion which isn't a message....but consider the source..it's sort of a trend in the thread making OT section ...nothing here folks.
I don't make their decisions for them. You're talking about a divorced couple attempting to make sense of it all. Who knows how they chose this camp.
As far as I know the camp is over. I was told which one it was just a couple of days ago. I only asked because @SlyPokerDog had asked me. Initially, I wasn't going to even ask them, but decided it wasn't a big deal. Or so I thought.
But again, you've previously described Alex's as a good kid with some gender questions. You've even mentioned how Alex helped their stepfather in construction or home remodeling. This just seems like an escalation, to remove Alex from school and send them out of state to a camp like that is concerning. This camp seems to be for behavior problems. If this camp is being used to "solve" Alex's gender questions that's concerning.
A majority of trans people have autism. That is a fucking conversion camp. I hope they survive and thrive despite this act of abuse.
Well isn't it fucking wonderful for you that you get to wash your hands and say you have no moral connection to this.
Do you ever wonder why you get the reactions you do? Hint - it isn't just because you are a self proclaimed conservative.
