One thing that bugs me, about covers, is how a crappy version of a good song. Like, this song and another The Who song, Behind Blue Eyes. The Who's version kicks ass. But if you look at the #'s on youtube, the versions by Fred Dirt and his Big Band dwarf the #'s of views of the videos by The Who. like 10-15x as many views. And the cover versions are shit.
The generation that gave us Beatles and Stones, civil rights movement, second wave feminism, Stonewall and a half million at a time marching against an unjust war. First Earth Day. First personal computers. And the Blazers one championship.
Please excuse my French, but...............Fucking A right!!! Boomer and proud of it. The younger gens can diss us all they want. We got one helluva lotta things right along the way. And did it against an incredible amount of resistance. And anyone expecting us to somehow apologize for trying to truly make the world a little bit better (while admittedly making our share of mistakes) can go......pleasure themselves painfully.
I wonder which generation dogs on boomers the most. I would posit that it's not Gen X who leads the charge against Boomers, mostly because our parents are boomers, or in some cases, our older siblings are boomers. Gen X is pretty much a forgotten generation. btw, @THE HCP, no I didn't misspell post-it. pos·it /ˈpäzət/ verb 1. assume as a fact; put forward as a basis of argument. "the Confucian view posits a perfectible human nature"
