Im not sold on Grant being anything more than a good player on a bad team (much like his father).

I'm also not sure that the difference between 5 and 7 is worth giving up 7 and Simons, especially when the other end is Grant.

Grant isn't a superstar, he's barely a star. His PER is 16 (yes I know it's not the EABA), he shoots so-so from the floor, he's not going to all the sudden get better.

He's not worth giving up a lotto pick + a 22 year old player on the cusp of becoming something good.

the fact that you even had to explain this lol.

Aye listen if Aaron Gordon couldn’t fetch a lottery pick, why would Grant?

For Grant I would give up a protected first and maybe a younger player like Keon. That’s essentially what Denver gave up for Gordon (first and RJ Hampton) except Orlando also took on Gary Harris while our TPE would get Detroit off Grants contract completely.

Tari Eason measures out at at 7'2" wingspan after many had him at 6'8".

Nearly all the wings measuring really well. Standing reaches across the board seem a little bit high, but there's enough of them that are in line with what I thought that maybe this just is a really large class.

And realistically, Grant would probably perform and be as inconsistent as Gordon is on the Nuggets. But not shoot nearly as well.

What? Nearly everywhere had him at 6’8 with a 7’1 wingspan, which is why he was a 3/4.

to me Grant at his best is a great role player. But still, you dont give up a top 10 pick for a role player, and I dont even hate the guy. I can see how he would help us. It would just be a massive overpay.

    Love Tari Eason's measurements.
Leonard Miller measure out well also.
Ron Harper Jr with a massive +7 wingspan.
    Mark Williams with pterodactyl arms!

This is a guy can also play in your rotation day one. Be nice backup for Nurk.

For most of the year, his wingspan in most places had him at a 6'8" wingspan. I thought they were shorting him, but most places only started changing him last week.

If I couldn't trade up I would trade down with Charlotte for 13 & 15 and those picks I would draft Williams for Duke.

Grant isn't the kind of player the Pistons have to tack on the #5 pick for (in desperation). But he's not the kind of player that warrants a top 10 pick (as you said) in return, no matter what.

CJ didn't get a *guaranteed* lottery pick, and I'd argue he's a better player than Grant is.

Keon, Bledsoe's anchor and maybe Hughes + a future 1st or 2nd? Sure.

But not Simons and 7 for Grant and 5.

Think of it this way, would you trade Simons for Grant?

    Because 5 and 7 aren't significantly different.

Williams and Eason wouldn't be a bad haul....although with the confirmed measurements, I expect both players might move up a bit.
