Just a little mindboggling that they look like they have no idea what they're doing in some of these games. Do they make any kind of adjustments? Does anyone light a fire under the team? Panarin looks like he's worried about what's going on in Russia or something.

Difference in the series is very simple. Carolina’s best offensive player is making plays and is playing well. Panarin fucking sucks and is a turnover machine. It’s a shame because the team actually could be up two games to zero instead of down two games to zero

Some of us have tried to tell people on this board all season that if the Rangers don’t try to develop Lafreniere and Kakko eventually they will never win a cup. Putting Strome on the powerplay instead of Lafreniere is now destroying the team in the playoffs.

Like Valiquette said in the postgame, against Carolina's pk you need quick support in the middle of the ice to setup, not stretch everyone out and give the pk time to anticipate. Plus, nobody gets up the ice into the zone cleanly to even get it going.

Like Edmonton your top players have to play like it in the playoffs. Otherwise you don't even have a chance to win. Panarin deserves criticism but where the hell is Kreider? Wants to do little else but stand at the side of the net.

Carolina has 3 goals in two games (the EN goal doesn't count), not sure I'd say their offensive players are making plays. If I told you we'd limit them to 3 goals in two games we'd all sign right now, and say 1-1 series at worst.

And your tired Lafreniere and Kakko narrative has been debunked by Lafreniere being maybe our best player, despite being "mishandled" by coaches. Kakko's issues are not due to the big mean coaches, they are due to him staying healthy and playing better to earn it.

And Step, the %'s are what they are when you are down 2-0 or 3-1 for a reason. Doesn't mean you cannot win, the %'s aren't 100% of course, but you do not make your living in the NHL playoffs coming back from 2-0 and 3-1 deficits. I am being real about where we stood against the Pens, and where we stand now. With that said, go win game 3 and we'll go from there.

Almost playing like a team overly satisfied with a first round win and little else matters.

Kreider hasn't been good offensively. Kreider, Zibanejad and Panarin have been duds for the most part. Those 11 points by Zibanejad in the Pitt series were so misleading. He did shit for the first 5 games of that series.

There are a lot of things the Canes are doing much better than the Rangers so far. some of them are fixable, others aren't unfortunately.
Face-offs....my god the Rangers are baaaaaaaaaaddddddddd. Doesn't matter which zone they are in, they just don't win enough and it really puts them at a disadvantage.
Fore checking...the Canes have been all over the Rangers and they figured out the Rangers will almost always use the boards to try to clear the zone...they cut off a ton of clearing attempts last night.
Passing/puck control..it's not to say that the Canes are doing anything next level, they've actually been pretty pedestrian too but the Rangers aren't making clean passes. They seem to be hesitant and taking half of a second to get the puck off their sticks is costing them. You watch the Canes when they have the puck in the offensive zone and they maintain control for long stretches. The Rangers had a handful of times where they did the same last night (drew a penalty on at least one of them) but it's not often or long enough to wear down the Canes.
I will say though that the Rangers have done a very good job at limiting the Canes scoring chances...they gave up a few odd-man rushes that cost them last night but for the most part they are hanging well.
The series isn't over yet, being down 2-0 is a big mountain to climb but they've shown resilience all season. Let's see them put a great game together tomorrow and go from there.

When your highest paid player is making excuses like a bitch, it's time to rethink things in the off-season. As I said, first Panarin is going to play right wing, shut the fuck up and deal with it so Lafreniere can play left wing on his line. Two, Lafreniere and Kakko need to play the first PP unit consistently next season. If that means that Panarin, Kreider and Zibanejad lose some time, tough shit. Deal with it.

Panarin wants to pass first just about all of the time. Passes us goof shots time and time again.

Not worrying officially until we lose a game at home. Then I’ll worry. I expect us back for game 5 in carolina tied at 2 games each
