apparently you didn't tune in for the Ant Nurk Winslow Hart 4 game winning streak before they shut them down for playing so well....they came out of the gate and beat the Suns like a drum ...I think you're selling the team short by a mile but hey....maybe you don't think Dame's core surgery will make him better? I do. We don't really have a team yet so not sure how they can be judged unless you think the tank squad will be back at tipoff....and who doesn't want to "win now"? Dame sure does...coaching staff sure does. Fans sure do.
If you're wanting to trade dame before you see him post surgery like wtf are you thinking? It's like fixing up your favorite car then selling it before you ever drove it.
He is gonna be 32. As much as I want a championship for Dame, I don't see it happening here. More than happy to go into the season and make a deal at the deadline if it is painfully obvious we aren't gonna do shit, though.
I mean that's great and all, but if that car doesn't have any chance of winning the big race, what are you doing?
That's doesn't seem very realistic to expect the Kings to give up that for Dame considering what happened this season, and especially considering the relative age of their core (of course it is the Kings). I wonder if that trade is legal because isn't Anunoby BYC till June? also, I don't see any reason for the Raptors to do that trade. VanVleet is better than Fox (he plays defense), so the Raptors would have to go with a small back court at the same time they'd need to bench Trent wut? the "prize" for trading Dame is Harrison Barnes? I'd say the prize order would be #4 - OG - Barnes Harrison Barnes is an empty stats guy
my bad...I missed the link and was looking at the Harrison Barnes trade Blazers would still have the same problem unless they somehow re-routed Van Vleet
This is my Dame trade that I don't really want to do but keeps coming back to me... it also involves the Kings. This move along with letting Hart, Nurk and Bledsoe walk and waiting to sign Ant so only his hold counts, would free up enough cap space to offer max deals to both Bridges and Ayton or whatever it would take to get them away from their current teams. Draft Sharpe at 4, Sochran at 7 and then fill the bench with our remaining picks. Ant, Sharpe, Bridges, Sochran, Ayton, 12th pick, Nas, 30th pick, 36th pick, Keon, Trendon, Greg, Didi, Wiggins... Williams and pick 57 two way players. Seeing as how this is a youth rebuild I'd let Justise pick his destination that had the TPE for him and wants him. So Boston for a our 2023 second rounder.
You can race with it (trade deadline), but if it is obvious it won't be a contender....time to move on.
Lmao, why I am not surprised you have this take? Time to more on when you have a superstar this loyal, with a new team, new GM, and still a whole off season to go is sure a odd way to think.
obviously, I don't want to trade Dame but of the two trades, I'd rather it was OG + #4 than just Scottie Barnes; I'm assuming the return for re-routing VanVleet wouldn't be all that impressive. In the first trade, I'd try to re-route H. Barnes for a late or future 1st or a couple of 2nds. in that case, I would not re-sign Nurkic...he probably wouldn't re-sign if Dame was gone anyway. I'd debate keeping Hart, but probably would. My goal would be to get another lottery pick next year but yeah, if it was Ant + Hart (maybe) + Anunoby + #4 + #7 with Winslow, Nas, Keon, Watford, I would at least wonder about the team's upside. I still don't think either the Kings or the Raptors would go for it though
I'm talking hypotheticals genius. I've said i'm more than happy to wait until the deadline. Trading #7 for Jerami Grant would probably make me want to move on sooner, though.
Fair enough. I think Barnes will be a star. I also like OG too. Barnes would fit our timeline with pick #7 and Ant. I am not saying this team would be a lot better than with Dame, they won't at first. And maybe not ever. But I would like the potential. Ant, Barnes Then Mathurin, Murray, Duren whatever. Maybe they suck another year and we are back in the lotto next year (fingers crossed). Maybe VanVleet to NY for Toppin, salary and a pick. Maybe NY would do Randle for VanVleet to get him off the team.
Toronto would still need a center. But, it would depend on if Toronto thought Dame, Trent, OG, Pascal and a center would be a contender in the east. Or Dame, Trent, Barnes, Pascal, center. I think they would depending on who they could get at Center.
