With how much has changed and will continue to change, I do not feel I can give a credible answer to this question. I chose Billups because I believe defense wins and I would like to see what he can do with the right players.

However if it were multiple choice, I definitely would have chose indifferent as well, because it IS all about the players. The right players.

I wanted Billups or Ime, was happy with Billups but so far Ime has impressed me for sure. In his first year he’s taking his team to the finals, hot damn that’s pretty legit.

I wanted Ime but I was really impressed with how hard Billups had the scrubs playing. Looking forward to seeing what he does with a full and healthy roster.

Billups impressed me, first with the new defense the team was playing with then what he got out of scrubs. If Dame was healthy at the start of the year and we had a SF it might have been a very different season.

With where the roster is now Billups or another coach is irrelevant.

Billups is still a rookie coach.

Don't know. I would have loved to get Udoka, but I was fine with Billups as well.

We haven't seen what Billups can do.

soon to be a sophomore coach! I like how guys play for him. I also like his staff, I think Rogers and Curry are great assistants so far...I like how he weathered the Olshey firing and the President Chris McGowen bailing as well. I really like that he goes back to high school with Joe Cronin...that's a rare combo. I think Dame loves him so that's also a big plus. Ime had a better roster and a weaker conference for his rookie season. he didn't have the wholesale change Chauncey had to coach through. I felt for 4 games with Nurk, Ant, Winslow Naz and Hart that we saw Chauncey ball...we won 4 straight to the point we had to sit those guys to tank..Chauncey still coached the 3rd string and 10 day guys and G leaguers and they showed grit. Give Chauncey a competitive roster and I think he'll run with it.

I liked Chauncey at the time of the hire. I respect the way he handled this season and his positivity despite it not living up to the level of competition I'm sure he'd expected. So the signs point towards him being a good coach but we still haven't seen what he can or can't do with a quality roster. Let's hope this season gives us a chance to learn just how capable Mr. Big Shot is.

I have no issue with Billups, but I'm a bit surprised so many people are voting for Billups over Ime. I'm guessing Billups wouldn't get one vote if this poll was given to Boston fans. Heck, Billups probably wouldn't get a vote from Dallas fans either. I guess that's what being a homer is all about!

Really hard to say even with the benefit on hindsight given the state of our roster last year.

Do you think Ime does better with the roster Billups had last year? Hard to say given Ime had/has a loaded roster than had been the conference finals multiple times recently.

Do you think Billups does worse with Boston’s roster given the fact Billups had a bunch of scrubs winning games to the point we started openly tanking?

I haven’t voted but this is where I lean: It’s mostly about the players BUT a good coach (or bad coach) can make a noticeable difference.

Due to injuries and roster turnover, reserving judgment. Not my first choice but that's troubled water under the bridge.

Chauncey being a championship leader and the respect he has throughout the league was impressive for me. But, the reason I was in favor of him was how he interpreted summer league games on TV a few years before. I was impressed with his evaluation of players and recall he was the only one up to that point that had Gary Trent pegged as on of the best second round picks from that draft. The way he explained why he felt that way about him really stuck with me about him. Trent was known as primarily a shooter that played scrappy but none of the experts saw what Chauncey did in Trent, toughness, a desire to improve defensively, just driven to win. To me Chauncey see's in young players what many so called experts miss and I think we will benefit from that. He also has a good feel for veteran players what what their strengths are, we will benefit from that as well.
