Was he the one who died of a heart attack two days later, or one of the other accidental deaths that was not firearm related?
    I can’t remember.
The only gun death that day was a woman who was actually shot BY the capitol police.

Not a single person died at the hands of a rioter or “insurrectionist” on January 6. It’s not spin, it’s just a fact. I know it’s a tough pill to swallow when you’ve been parroting it for so long. Everyone else has moved on to the “the nation almost fell that day” angle. I suggest you jump on the bandwagon. We’ve moved on to bigger and more exciting things.

    Yawn.

Breaking into the capital while yelling “let’s get that fucker!” — what did she expect from an armed guard?

Lets also not gloss over that this riot was based purely on lies. The dumb fuck Trumpanzee allies left a paper trail a mile long :biglaugh:

Instead of spinning shit, let’s hear your take on a the insurrection. I’m all ears, Johnny Rhoten.

No that’s not what happened. What they did was simply allow them to continue to plot so they could catch everyone involved. Big difference from helping or egging them on. I like your wording though. “Encouraged “ that sounds better.

When something like 13 out of 19 of the would-be “kidnappers” were working for the FBI and solely responsible for organizing the plot and handling all the logistics, and the few non-FBI conspirators were low-functioning, low IQ backwoods grunts that were swindled into the plan, it really starts to just look like a big fuck off waste of time. I doubt the other five or six were even intelligent enough to plan such a thing by themselves, let alone pull it off. Without the nudging of the FBI they’d probably still be sitting in a bar somewhere bitchin’ ‘bout liberals.

Thanks for taking the time to post this.
The problem I have with these articles is they are completely based around one nugget of truth that is more or less inconsequential and they build their case around it. They take one fact or quote (Epps’ lawyer stating he’s not FBI in this case) then expound on it, requote it and surround it with fluff like “misinformation experts say…”. Next thing you know this one article is taken and parroted by ten other outlets under the proclamation of “it’s being reported that so and so…” which morphs into “debunked”. The news skirts the truth until a story takes on a life of its own and an entire premise is built. And it’s not just the left or liberal outlets. Almost all mainstream news stories seem to be built this way.

‘It’s a war’: Cowboys for Trump founder says he will fight to the ‘end’ to throw out New Mexico ballots

"Cowboys for Trump" founder Couy Griffin is defiantly refusing to certify the results of New Mexico's primary election in Otero County, where he sits as a commissioner despite his Jan. 6 Capitol trespassing conviction.

"Commissioner Couy Griffin and the other two members of the Otero County Commission are claiming — without evidence, of course — that Dominion voting machines cannot be trusted," CNN's Jake Tapper reporter. "They're echoing former President Trump's conspiracy theories, since disproven, about the 2020 election."

Tapper played a new clip of Griffin discussing his refusal to certify.

"If they want to throw me in jail, if they want to criminally charge me with a felony, I would rather go down with dignity and honor making a sacrifice for the good of my country than try to save myself in this," Griffin said.

"It's a war right now, I feel like," he said of his fight against democracy. "It's like a battle and whenever you're in a battle, and you're engaged, you take it to the end no matter what the personal ramifications may be."

At stake are 7,123 ballots cast in the primary by the citizens of Otero County.

Also on Friday, Griffin was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Trevor N. McFadden.

He was sentenced to 14 days in jail and a $3,000 fine, but was released as he had already spent 20 days in jail in DC after his arrest, The Washington Post reported.

"After his sentencing, Griffin implored reporters to follow up on discredited conspiracy theories about the Capitol’s doors mysteriously opening on Jan. 6, about an Arizona man falsely accused of being an FBI agitator in the crowd, and the possibility that voting machines in New Mexico might be electronically hacked," the newspaper reported. "Instead of taking his case to a jury, Griffin elected a bench trial with McFadden, an appointee of former president Donald Trump. Evidence at his two-day trial showed that Griffin and his videographer climbed over various barricades and barriers, then clambered onto the inauguration stage in front of the Capitol and spent more than an hour speaking through a bullhorn to the surging mob."

Founder of ‘Cowboys for Trump’ Finally Realizes Ex-President Is a Massive Grifter

Couy Griffin, the founder of the “Cowboys for Trump” group who once stated his belief that Donald Trump was divinely chosen to rule, appears to have had a belated change of heart. Griffin, a New Mexico county commissioner who was charged for his alleged role in the Capitol riot earlier this year, seemed to turn on Trump during a speech at a QAnon conference in Las Vegas this weekend. According to a video of the speech posted by Raw Story, he told the crowd: “We supported President Trump because of his fight for justice as well, and for four years we cried ‘Lock her up. Lock her up. Lock her up.’ ... What did the president tell us? ‘If I was in charge of the law, you’d be in jail.’ OK, Mr. President, you were in charge of the law for four years. At the end of your four year time, the only ones that were locked up were men like me, and others like me, that have stood by the president the strongest.” Federal prosecutors have offered Griffin a plea deal in the hope of resolving his Jan. 6 misdemeanor charges......

Solid. Just wanted to point out that I agree with you. It reminds me of the Mueller report, and how the document states clearly that Trump was not exonerated. But, once the president's lawyers stated that he was vindicated, and the right wing media ran with that statement, there was no defeating that narrative.

And yes, this happens all the time, with every side. I may be liberally inclined, but I really don't trust much media.

This was a Republican primary. All voters were Republicans.

If a person has matured, developed an intellect and has a sense of conviction about what's right and wrong then they've more than likely already grown bullshit filters for media sensationalized output....and you look at a thousand pieces of information and find a few that ring true. Then come to your own conclusions or new sets of questions but it's not as simple as all media bad...all sides equally bad...that's the impatient way of looking at the legislative, executive and judicial branches of our government...the Republicans have glaringly lied about some pretty important events and are still stalemating stubbornly against the truth....doesn' t take a degree in political science to see a lie, obstruction of justice or an illegal movement to thwart the democratic process...How some folks just haven't been able to face the truth and stand together baffles the mind...this whole, "yeah but maybe they suck too" isn't solving our current problem

No, it was an attempted coup de 'tat inside our Capitol building. This is once in a lifetime monumental event. This was no mere petty riot, it was history making by a lot of traitors. Except for a couple of spies I've never heard of any traitors and my bet is I'll never see that many traitors in one place and no one else ever.

One sure way to get the Democratic party to mobilize would be for the Republican Party to nominate Donald Trump to run for president in 2024.
