That's out of our control though. There has to be myriad of things to go wrong to make that pick hit.

When you got 3 years left of dame (and a fully healthy and rested dame at that) you can't say no because of 6 or 7 things that may go wrong

Yeah I'd explore a reasonable extension. But there's still a chance that he works out horribly.

    I'd do 3/60 or 4/80. I wouldn't do 4/112. That's too much IMO.

I'm failing to see the risk in trading a likely mid 20s pick for help in a position of need.

This is also true! Lol. But for the price it's fine. Gotta see.

I cant speak for the others, but you are wrong about my post. I don't even read that thread to know who posts in it really. Im just happy to hopefully see it move on to page two. Nothing about calling anyone out. I apologize if it came across that way.

He won't be eligible until 6 months from now. That is gonna be around December/January. They can closer to the trade deadline based on how well he's playing.

The Clipper trade had to happen. It wasn't a question of it being a good trade.

Over the last several years we've not had any consistency at the forward position. JerG gives us a guy that can score down low. We never got that from RoCo or Powell.

In all likelihood you're right. The pick will probably be crap.

    But....

The Lakers pick this year is proof that things can go horribly wrong for really good teams. Another example is the Clippers trading their pick for Baron Davis and then it ended up being the #1 pick and Cleveland got Kyrie. Now, this pick is protected top 4, but it CAN happen.

    Why?

And more important, why did it have to happen a week before the deadline?

We wouldn't have the 15th pick after the Grant trade.

I mean this with all due respect, really... but everyone and their grandma has been saying that we were getting Grant for the past several months, so I stopped paying attention.

Glad to see it finally happened (since the price was reasonable).

I don't think we are able to keep that pick. We still sent out a first rounder.

That 'Pelicans pick' is what we traded to Detroit for Grant.
If we get the Pels pick, we don't have the Bucks '25 pick to trade.... It was one or the other.
