Any interest in trading for John Collins now?

While I disagree with those who think Sharpe is going to be PDX's SF this year as he's a SG size and skill wise, at least initially I like him cutting his teeth coming up behind Hart. No pressure on the kid and Josh is a tough pro who excels at scrapping and D... two important things I don't want Shaedon to skip adding to his game. If SS is somehow blowing up right out the gate, then they'll have a valuable piece in Hart to deal at the deadline.

    Collins isn't a player I covet.

We just take the protections off. @hoopsjock has reported that we already have a deal in place to do it and the deal isn't a bad one for us.

I’d be more interested in Deandre Hunter.

I would want to do Collins for Bledsoe + Keon + 1st, but with Grant, it just doesn’t make sense. I wouldn’t want to make a trade even if we win in overall talent if it doesn’t help us win.

If they’re offering Hunter, let’s talk. Hunter, Grant, Little, Hart, and Sharpe would be crazy.

He didn't say what the deal was but posted that it wasn't bad for us on here and posted this tweet of his.

I don't get why so many people pigeonhole Grant as a SF. Go look at videos of his defensive highlights and he's guarding from Goran Dragic to KAT. Most of what you'll see is against SF's (Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Middleton, Kawhi, Wiggins).

I don't mind Grant at SF as long as our PF is really athletic too. So I don't see a problem with a Grant/Collins/Nurk frontcourt. Some people here don't think that there is a point of attack defender in that group but I think Grant definitely is one and Collins isn't as bad of one as many have said he is.

Those protections saved Cronin from doing some more really stupid things at the deadline, so I'm thankful for them.

I think most people actually think he’s a four.

I meant to say pigeonholed as a PF.

Without those protections- we wouldn't have Sharpe

Is Collins going to still be out for trade? Personally, I’m hoping that means they’ll stick to a high tax bill and try to trade some of their young guys.

I’d love Jalen Johnson. He’d seem like the easiest young guy to get from them outside of Sharife Cooper.

So the Hawks want to pair Murray with Trae?

They have said they want Trae to play more off the ball. So this would go with what they've been saying. Might help John Collins return to form as well with Murray being primary facilitator.

I don't get what the Spurs are doing. Murray has finally come into his own.

Guess they don't view him as a star.

Haha Murray averaged nearly a triple double on 20ppg and is one of the best defending guards in the league, leading the league in steals this year.

Got elected to his first All Star game at 25 years old. If he’s not a star I’m not sure what the definition of a star is..

love murray but i can totally see what San Antonio is doing if they give him up for three future firsts.
They're trying to tank for Wembanyama, like they did for Duncan.
